nice shot..what are those dark black edges round the leaves on top ?

Thanks for this observation, I missed that. I had a look, it is a different color (yellowish) that appears behind the leaves and the B/W conversion seems to create this effect. You see, I edited the jpeg (I was just playing for fun with it) and this effect is present in the jpeg, but not in the raw file... I will try to understand further what it is. But I can assure you it is not sharpness effects

So here is a crop of the jpeg without any processing (1st image) and raw without any processing (2nd image). You can see the difference.

Lesson, use the raw file always... :-)

Yes, I usually edit the raw, but I made a mistake using the jpeg. I used Lightroom btw. If I increase the yellow and orange luminosity, then it gets much better (even with the jpeg).

Thanks for the useful feedback..

looks good.

this is the menu i was talking about in silver Fx..great for fine tuning b&w conversions..similar to a color filter in front of the lens

Advertisement (gone after registration)

New Judge. A young friend of mine was just appointed to a judgeship by the Governor. She asked me to photograph her

robing (vestiture) ceremony. This is her husband placing the judicial robes on her for the first time after taking the oath

of office. SL with SL 90-280. Processed in Lightroom and Tonality Pro by MacPhun (I'm trying to find a substitute for

Silver Efex Pro now that it is no longer supported.).

Thanks,

Mark
