Yeah, seems like they are at least starting to trickle in - I got a call from NY Leica and received mine yesterday!  10 minutes later I also got a call from a camera store in Texas, my name had come to the top of their list too - so I made someone happy and told them to move on....

What is the point of guessing?  There are no prizes for being correct.  If you are looking to make a purchase, there  is already a thread about availability, (it's named Leica Q availability), and there have been useful and informative posts in that forum with clear pointers towards dealers holding or expecting stock.

I dropped by Discount Camera in San Francisco on Sept. 19. Displaying an authorized dealer certificate on the wall, they have the other current Leica cameras and a good selection of Leica lenses in stock. The counter person said the store ordered six Q's from Leica, were allotted one, and had a long waiting list. He was in awe that a US$4,000 camera was so hot on the market.

I also got to play with a Leica Q at the Leica Store in the city. I presume they could sell the demo, but I did not ask about their stock, instead telling them candidly that I was not going to buy the 28mm Q but was interested in a 50mm Q or an interchangeable lens Q. They had no details except to say that new product, maybe Q maybe not Q, will be announced late October.

I remain impatiently patient and determined to purchase the Q from my local Leica Store.

I think any news, is important news. Right now, we are all in the dark. B & H and Amazon have had the same number of reviews for the past thirty days. That basically indicates, to me, that the distribution of the Q to the large retail outlets have come to a grinding halt. Otherwise, based on history of new photographic equipment, people would post their reviews online.

Although I am not in a critical rush because I have other photographic equipment, it certainly would be appreciated to have a minimal amount of news and visibility when one considers the Q was released in June. Just saying.....,,,

Just as an FYI I am on 10 different lists as of July 10, and to date not one call.  I lucked out and bought a 1 week old camera from someone.  If you are interested I may buy 1 or 2 when I do get a call and sell for no extra charge here on the site.  I know how frustrating it is waiting months on end.

Cheers

There is a Q available at this dealer as of today. They have no waiting list that I am aware of. They only have one.
