  1. Thanks, I have placed my preorder....!
  2. Joe , Sorry to hear you had to sell those great SL lens you bought from me. As you recall, I sold them for the same reason. Too heavy for my 71 year old body. I have my X1D kit which I can easily tote around. FWIW, I also have the Nikon Z7 which is very light and gives excellent results.
  3. This was taken last week in Colorado at the Idarado Mine. It was probably a miners rooming house. M10M with 35 fle lux. yellow filter.
  4. In edition to the M10M I own the Hasselblad X1D. It initially had the issue where if you used the exposure bracketing setting which was very good, you could not set a shutter delay as well. They finally fixed this and it is an option you can set.
  5. Just realized that I typed CLH and there is no such thing. I meant CL....sorry.
  6. I bought my Wasabi batteries about two years ago and there have ben no issues. I guess mine are from an earlier period and there might be issues with those bought now.
  7. Right after I got my CLH, I ordered some kind of deal through Amazon for three batteries and a charger. I mistakenly ordered two of them and ended up with batteries everywhere it seems. The wife Leica V Lux uses the same battery though so we have spares everywhere....! The brand is Wasabi.
  8. Well I saw this done a while back and I had to do it in with my new M10 Monochrom with 35fle
  9. Maine is our favorite place and we spent two weeks there last September at Ocean Point near Booth Bay. Not this year as I believe they do not let Texans travel there. Over the years I have spent many weeks photographing and attending workshops.
  10. Not sure what the situation is at the factory but they seem to be available everywhere. I decided to get one a week ago and had no problem. Not sure where you are located but if you really want one I would go online.
  11. Nice photo Keith. Love the brand of wrench "Newlobster". Here in the states they are most commonly known as "Crescent" wrenches. My M10M will arrive tomorrow. Can"t wait to venture out some.
  12. I have owned way more gear than I will admit. My first digital was a Leica made by Panasonic. Cannot remember what it was called but it was like a little box. I was a long time R shooter and moved into digital with a Nikon system and kept using various models till I sold my D600. I have been through the S and SL but the weight was a factor as I grew older and body parts started hurting. I bought into the CL and have wight primes and zooms plus two bodies. My medium format is the Hasselblad X1D and I recently got the Nikon Z7. I guess I did don't learn by my old mistakes but I am a mirrorless kind of guy and they all are considerable lighter in weight. Oh I forgot to mention I still have the M10 and 8 lens for it. I guess I did admit to owning a lot of gear. What can I say, I like to try out new gear.
  13. I hate to say it but I had the 50 APO but found it too heavy and traded it back to Leica Miami over a year ago. But Joe remember "if not now then when...!"
  14. Joe, Let me know how the two lens work when you get your SL.
  15. While Vieri may have used an S at some point, he left the SL system and went with the X1D.
  16. I have been selling off my SL kit. It is just too heavy to lug around at my age. The Z6 or Z7 is much lighter and when you attach a lens to the SL, it is much heavier than a Z with attached lens. FWIW
  17. I never really warmed up to the Q. Just me but a fixed focal length camera is essentially a point and shoot. Now before you flame me, the Q is certainly a fabulous camera for what it is and the Q2 even more so. I would love to know how many Q units are out there compared to CL. I initially thought of the CL as just another APSC thingy but I read and read about it. I was so tired of the weight of the SL that I finally bought the CL kit. I loved it so much I bought a second body and have 6 lens. I am in the process of selling my SL system. Just my journey, yours may be different.
  18. I have day hiked with my CL many times and the only lens I take is the 18-56. This way I do not need to change the lens and I can carry it in a very small pouch or holster type bag. My holster is very small and has room for extra batteries which I have about six of. I do not carry all six. FWIW
  19. Do not recall when I bought mine exactly but it was new and they were very hard to find at there time. I ran across it by accident in a shopping Austin, TX. Serial 416xxxx. Mine never exhibited the flare issue.
  20. This might be it but it has been many months since I bought it. This seller has several 52mm hoods. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Round-Metal-52mm-Lens-Hood-for-Canon-Nikon-Pentax-Sony-Nikkor-Lens/172525079229?hash=item282b4bcabd:g:MSQAAOSw3v5YnbjY
  21. The focal length is 18 I believe but you only get about 10 megapixels of the sensor. Still not a bad option for a small carry around lens. It would work better on the CL though. IMO
  22. At least you are in some incredibly beautiful parts of the US.
  23. Very interesting. I was in my closest shop in Austin today and the salesman told me that the SL had been replaced by a Panasonic of some sort which I did not want to get into a discussion about. I was fondling the Nikon Z7 just for fun.
  24. I went with 2 CL bodies early on. The first one was much better than I expected so it made sense at least to me...!
