Advertisement Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Hi farnz, Take a look here London Meet - any ideas?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
robert_parker Posted September 30, 2009 Share #22 Posted September 30, 2009 Robert, Sounds like a fun trip, as do some of the other ideas mentioned. I'm keen to join the next meeting and don't really mind where or when, although of course if the time/date is no good I may not make it .... BUT can the next London meet be in London, please. Time and finances may make some of the grander suggestions difficult for some of us, unless perhaps they were "one off" extras in addition to a regular local meeting. No offence intended to the lateral thinkers. Tim ...Now if I can sell those two pictures.....

I think there was quite a strong pick up when we discussed it before - it might be a case of finding out what a group ticket would cost
lanetomlane Posted October 1, 2009 Share #24 Posted October 1, 2009 Paris/Bruxelles/Lille sounds like a great idea, Robert, I'm a definite starter. Pete. Depending on the actual date in November we could be interested in a trip on the Eurostar. _________________ Regards, Tom Photography by Tom Lane
spylaw4 Posted October 1, 2009 Share #25 Posted October 1, 2009 Alas, count me out of a foreign excursion. No budget! A London area meet is fine, however.
biglouis Posted October 1, 2009 Author Share #26 Posted October 1, 2009 OK, lots of ideas. I did start the thread so perhaps I should chime in. November 21st is the best date for me at present. I just don't have the time or energy to commit to anything other than a meetup in London. Question is: late morning session, followed by lunch somewhere, followed by walk at dusk/early evening followed by some us still going into the night, or just the walk late afternoon followed by drinks/dinner etc? Brian could make an executive decision here! LouisB

steve kessel Posted October 1, 2009 Share #28 Posted October 1, 2009 how about soho?
robert_parker Posted October 1, 2009 Share #29 Posted October 1, 2009 First option sounds good to me, too. Probably a good idea to save the Paris option for the New Year / spring, when it may be woth considering again .
farnz Posted October 1, 2009 Share #30 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) First option for me too Paris in NY/spring sounds good. Pete. Edited October 1, 2009 by farnz
George James Posted October 1, 2009 Share #31 Posted October 1, 2009 Yes, I'll plump for the first option. George
earleygallery Posted October 1, 2009 Share #32 Posted October 1, 2009 I particularly like the acknowledgment that 'lunch' will last until dusk/early evening!
spylaw4 Posted October 1, 2009 Share #33 Posted October 1, 2009 Sounds like we have a consensus - at last! Nov 21st somewhere around lunchtime - followed by a dusky walk photo shoot then - ..... ?????
Tim B Posted October 2, 2009 Share #34 Posted October 2, 2009 Count me in (work permitting). Soho for lunch and walkabout, evening pub etc etc. All sounds good. Tim

ptarmigan Posted October 5, 2009 Share #36 Posted October 5, 2009 I'm in! Hopefully we can find time to get run off 'private property' as we have tripods and no permits and get our collar's felt for snapping 'kid in parks' or even better - detained under the prevention of Terrorism Act for snapping bobbies outside the Houses of Parliament. Alan Philpotts Posted October 11, 2009 Share #37 Posted October 11, 2009 Count me in too. Regards Alan
MPerson Posted October 21, 2009 Share #38 Posted October 21, 2009 Have not chimed in on this as my son was due back from Afghanistan on the 20th Nov but as he now gets back on the 28th I can make this and time we had another meet. If the consensus is Soho (ish) we could all meet up at: The Photographers Gallery (Bakerloo, Central and Victoria lines) 16-18 Ramillies Street London W1F 7LW The Photographers Gallery web site They open at 1100 and have a café - handy if the weather is iffy - and gives those travelling from outside the M25 a decent start. We can then bimble down Carnaby St and all points east into Soho/Chinatown for late lunch? I have an evening commitment so will peel off around 1600-1700. Just an idea but I am up for anything, just need the weather on side.
dpattinson Posted October 21, 2009 Share #39 Posted October 21, 2009 I hope I'll be able to join you, should be OK for the 21'st if I get my Borough Market run done early
ptarmigan Posted October 21, 2009 Share #40 Posted October 21, 2009 Is there a consensus on what we are doing yet?
