Although most of my great inspirations are already named (Kertesz, Brassai, Koudelka, Eugene Smith, Sieff, Ronis, Doisneau, Nachtwey) I would like to add some:

Werner Bisschoff (died at young age, Magnum member).

Reza Deghati, Iranian photographer, living in Paris and working under the name of Reza.

And a lesser known photographer: Kees Scherer, Dutch photographer.

KEES SCHERER

A contemporary photographer I like very much is the Belgian Stephan Vanfleteren. He works in B/W.:

Marco -- well done!! Maybe someone can convert this to a sticky so it doesn't get lost -- it's a list worth returning to.

cheers

I agree someone should as it is an valuable list of superb skill and covers all the major players within our craft

Because kenneth is on my ignore list I can't actually read what his question was, however I get the general drift, and my answer is O. Winston Link.
