Al Brown Posted August 17, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted August 17, 2023 So the logo can be golden as well… no Geosystems back story lol…
Jewl Posted August 17, 2023 Share #4 Posted August 17, 2023 Obviously they changed their mind regarding "we don't plan to make a silver or special edition of the new M6"... Totally not my taste but I believe collectors will jump on it 😉
LocalHero1953 Posted August 17, 2023 Share #5 Posted August 17, 2023 (edited) Just one more thing to check when buying a secondhand M6......VF fungus and haze, top plate blistering, failed meter circuitry, woodworm, deathwatch beetle, dry rot....... I'll pass.` Edited August 17, 2023 by LocalHero1953 1
Al Brown Posted August 17, 2023 Author Share #6 Posted August 17, 2023 The choice of wood for grip is probably as bad as that Aramid (Kevlar-that-is-not-to-be-named) thingy fraying on my Reporter. But the solid gold dot logo “especially prepared by a Goldsmith from Wetzlar” could start a trend…
wizard Posted August 17, 2023 Share #7 Posted August 17, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Clearly aimed at the Asian collector market if you ask me.
pcgarner Posted August 17, 2023 Share #8 Posted August 17, 2023 Perhaps these embarrassing special editions allow Leica to make enough money to keep pushing real cameras out the door. I hate to think they have valued staff on hand who scheme up these things. The gold-plated editions are harmless but also a mild mockery of the real thing.

Zeitblom Posted August 17, 2023 Share #11 Posted August 17, 2023 I seem to remember a similar wallpaper pattern in a great-aunt's kitchen-living room. The brown tone probably came from a lot of her cooking fumes. 1

Geosystems back story and then one of the limited edition Q2s was released w the black dot.

And seeing how the limited edition titanium M-A is allergic to its finish, we'll never know if this one holds on to its paint appropriately.. grahamc Posted August 17, 2023 Share #14 Posted August 17, 2023 Wood covering huh. They gave up pretending that this one is anything other than an ornament. 10/10 for honesty !
Studienkamera Posted August 17, 2023 Share #15 Posted August 17, 2023 Goodness me, why did I click on this thread? Need to think of something more pleasant now to forget this... toothache might work. 2
Bronco McBeast Posted August 17, 2023 Share #16 Posted August 17, 2023 Besides the folkloric bitching, it’s a M6 with the MP’s finish. and the Noctilux is BLACK PAINT on brass. Geez, that’s a WINNER! I’d buy ASAP if I had the funds.
pgh Posted August 18, 2023 Share #17 Posted August 18, 2023 I hate this luxury branding horseshit. I would call the buyers of this thing suckers but then they have so much money that they don't even notice the difference in the balance once they receive it, put it on their shelf and forget about it. This nonsense is the reason I wish my M10 was branded Nikon or something else. I love the tools themselves, I could do without literally everything else about it. 4

Well, we all called the 100 buyers of 15K silver 50/1.2 re-edition noctiluxes suckers but hey, that thing is worth 60-80K now, just as this black paint combo will be worth 100K next month. The original buyers are not suckers. Those who buy from them are. Edited August 18, 2023 by Al Brown
benqui Posted August 18, 2023 Share #19 Posted August 18, 2023 Oh my god, this camera is really ugly. Sometimes there are really beautiful editions like the Zagato M10. But this one is far away from understatement and style. Ok , it helps Leica to earn some extra money, but not my taste at all. In Germany there is right now a new law to legalize Cannabis. I think the designers of this camera were in the test group with Cannabis. This is the only explanation which I have for this camera.

It's almost a hark back in style to Victorian times not something that happened only twenty years ago. 1
