I would expect it to be similar to M11, which is similar to SL2-S. Tests will confirm it.
lx1713 Posted May 25, 2023 Share #23 Posted May 25, 2023 Mild shock. My Q2 is now slightly less perfect 😅 V log and Pro Res and 90mm and tilt screen - very Nice Indeed!
Dennis Posted May 25, 2023 Share #24 Posted May 25, 2023 If only it had a 35mm lens 😒 I'm a happy owner of the Q2M, but TBH, I always wished for a different lens. For the same reason, I only have one 28mm and multiple 35's I guess the Q3M will use the same 28mm lens 1
sebben Posted May 25, 2023 Share #25 Posted May 25, 2023 Somewhat ironically for me the most interesting thing about this camera is that it shoots ProRes. I wonder though how good the downscaling is and if there is any moire.

Krycek Posted May 25, 2023 Share #29 Posted May 25, 2023 However, there are two fundamental problems on this camera: - Maximum continuous shooting mode limited to 4fps in 14bit with AF... - No external microphone jack for a camera that includes so much video spec...not comprehensible... Phil75 Posted May 25, 2023 Share #30 Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) Perfect moment to negotiate a decent discount on a Q2 and get some accessories for free 😇 There are just 2 things that really attract me to a Q3 and these are the low light performance and better body paint. A flip screen and the buttons on the right side are no gos for me. Edited May 25, 2023 by Phil75
250swb Posted May 25, 2023 Share #31 Posted May 25, 2023 No. The price you pay for it, and more importantly what the average (majority) of users can gain from it is bloated in both dimensions. I'm sure Leica knows that people will buy it because they are sure to make their photographs 'better', but generally speaking the more the IQ of the sensor goes up the IQ of the owners comes down. 2
intermediatic Posted May 25, 2023 Share #32 Posted May 25, 2023 Fantastic. 28mm is such a great focal length, my favorite. And even with the software correction, the Q Summilux is my current favorite 28mm lens.

Kristofferpaulsen Posted May 25, 2023 Share #35 Posted May 25, 2023 Annoying that they're still using SD cards, which have hit their limit. Love the upgrades to video specs.. Shocked at the addition of usbc and hdmi mini connectors, being able to charge from the wall, or a powerbank in your pocket is going to be super helpful. Kristofferpaulsen Posted May 25, 2023 Share #36 Posted May 25, 2023 also, curious about the AF upgrade, will be great to trial. Kai's review showed it not grabbing focus on video super well.
Kiwimac Posted May 26, 2023 Share #37 Posted May 26, 2023 I’d prefer a version that had no video capability at all.

Yes, that's interesting. However, considering that it has a 60MP resolution but only shoots at 39MP, I don't see enough justification to purchase the new camera. Additionally, the 35mm view in the electronic viewfinder (EVF) appears similar to the 35mm frame line in the optical viewfinder (OVF) of an M camera with a 35mm lens. When using an EVF, I prefer not to see anything outside of the frame. But... If the Q3M were to be released with the same specifications as the Q3 but equipped with a monochrome sensor, a tilt screen, and... a 35mm lens, I would be absolutely amazed. Carrot Posted May 26, 2023 Share #40 Posted May 26, 2023 Leica have confirmed to me that the Q2 handgrip will fit the Q3. This is helpful if you like using the grip but aren’t bothered about investing in wireless charging.
