I use one like this most of the time. I like the messenger bag design, removable padded inserts, waxed canvas is nice and hardy. Has a zip to close up the bag if needed.

I like that it doesn’t look like a camera bag when I carry it around.

This one is still going strong for me - Carries up to 3 M bodies with lenses attached, plus film, batteries and filters. Doesn't look like a camera bag but it has a nice padded camera insert to keep everything safe. Build quality is great - I carry it daily and in all weather.

Is it an ONA?

The $99.00  Wotancraft "PILOT" TRAVEL CAMERA BAG was a perfect small M kit day bag for me. Fits my M11 with 1 lens attached and 2 more. It's light, well made, small, not an "attention getter" and easy to use.

Carry as little as possible.

So a bag to carry one camera with lens attached, and a battery if you must (haven't planned?)

Holster bag I think they were called...mine goes back to SLR days so takes a zoom lens on the camera.

If I see a pic and don't have the lens...I just look, enjoy, and remember.

Because I want the cameras to remain as small as possible, no half-case, full-case or fancy straps.  I put $15 rope-style straps on all my Leica bodies. They are the most comfortable straps I've had.  You can tie knots in them to change length or make them function as a wrist strap and they're featherweight.  For a bag, when a bag is needed, only Billingham.  I have three sizes to use only the smallest one necessary.  Only the best for the best.

I looked at those but it seems like an expensive half-solution to a non-existent problem.  It's a bit messy looking and depends on the attached elastic band to hold it in place.  Probably best for in-case transport but then you don't need leather. A simple microfiber washcloth would suffice and you can use it to wipe down the equipment.  It is pretty though.

Which 3 sizes do you own? I need something for my M11 with a lens attached plus two more lenses and some accessories. Thinking of the Hadley Pro Small.

Hadley Pro Small is bigger than you need, but great if you want extra space for a rain jacket or similar.

The Hadley Digital was designed for exactly the kit you have described.  A good comparison review here … https://findingrange.com/2016/07/18/billingham-hadley-digital-review-a-bare-essentials-hadley/

[I have too many Billingham bags. Be careful diving in ….. ;) ]

I have a (lg) 555, (md) 335 x2 and a smaller one that I don't know the number to but I believe is a Hadley Pro.  The 555 rarely leaves home due to its large size unless it goes inside a rigid Pelican international travel case.  The two 335s alternate between equipment and the Hadley (shoulder) bag is for two bodies 2-3 (total) lenses and a days-worth of walking stuff.

Was eyeing this one which was  recently released. Great looking EDC!

In the meantime i recently got the Montbell light pro shoulder bag. Because I'm such a klutz when carrying gear im more towards bags that don't have zipper that catch on to things when taking gear out. Magnetic clasps work for me.

Anybody tried the Billingham M Combination bag? I've see it at the Leica Store a couple of times and it seems pretty nice.

It is a nice bag, very well suited for the M system.

But you have to like the boxy look. It just doesn't fit me, so I chose hadley small pro, which has about the same capacity but totally different style.

Good to hear the Hadley small pro is not so boxy - not a fan of those box designs for a shoulder bag. Prefer it to hug / mold the body more.

i still use Combi Bag. I love the way it looks, it looks thin and stick to my back. But if you're also looking for a practicality, i prefer Hadley Small Pro because of: 1) top handle 2) extra compartment in the back to easily put my phone and handkerchief
