setuporg Posted September 1, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I see a lot of threads asking a question, "X or Y lens?" The correct Leica answer is both. They are all different and you cannot really decide until you shoot with each yourself. Then you have to do it over a period of time, so you really have to own both. If you don't like one, or both, you can sell them later, usually at no loss if you got them used. When in doubt, feel free to consult this post for reassurance.

Al Brown Posted September 1, 2021 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2021 Of course advanced experienced stubborn die-hard Leica users know the right answer is "all three of them", but one must eventually come to that conclusion by him/herself.

That is the ery difficult (= impossible) thing to follow (comparing two lense), as so many clever people make their way of live with one lens on one body ONLY.

Because size, weight and overall performance, between your amazing and so different 35mm characters here, one lens only? I would choose the Cron 🙂 \ Come on Crony, chose the Cron! Who is the Highlander? lol Remember, there will be only one ....

NigelG Posted September 2, 2021 Share #11 Posted September 2, 2021 IMHO with Leica M lenses for me the “which one”? question often seems to better resolve instead into “which two?”... Slow/light/ small often plays vs Big/fast/heavy. For 35 I gave up and only have an Lux ASPH fle, but I have multiple 28 / 50 / 90s and struggle with which one to take.... It is the prototypical Leica lens (for me) : compact and powerful. (The Distagon is (currently) my best 35mm lens.) After the Summicron, there was no compelling reason to buy another 35mm lens. Some, I bought out of curiosity. And curiosity killed the cash, as they say (😁 ) ...
