How times have changed ! The SL2 is even heavier than the SL and looks quite similar. But now people like it (they say). But with the SL, 4 years ago, everybody was critizising the size, weight and design ....

Everybody? Nope.

Actually, I belong to those that e.g. find the M with the larger M-lenses (Luxes, Noctiluxes, 90Cron etc) rather unbalanced. But we are all different...

I never critizised its weight when working with it, it has a very fine and comfortable ergonomic feel in the hand which is very functional too because I had sharp photo’s with the apo telyt 280/4.0 even with apo extender. But the weight is a thing in your backpack on a hike

Cant resist 😎: APO 280/4 on the SL2 must be something. As is the 400mm f2.8-R fixed or modular version... Looking forward to playing!

Since you touched upon it: Is it possible, without too much hassle, to get the wonderful RRS SL-plate modified to fit the SL2?

I don't think so.  It's just different enough.  I imagine a tool and dye maker (if you can find one) could modify it.  Or you could drill and tap a hole in the camera base and hope for the best!

I just checked RRS website and, of course, they do not have plate for the SL2, which might take a while.  They are taking pre-orders on the Q2 plates.  I don't know if they get a template ahead of time or what determines lag time.
