How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

Rare White Lions in the wild-  On a recent trip to Ngala Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park in S Africa, we came across a pride of 11 lions on a Buffalo kill. Two of these Lions, a male & a female (probably siblings) were White Lions.

This is an extremely rare sighting, the last time I saw White Lions in the wild, was in the same area 42 years ago. These Lions are not albinos, a recessive gene is what gives them this colour.

You can see the stark difference in colour between the male White Lion and the other Lion in the bottom right corner of the image, who's gorging himself on the kill.

This is an ad hoc--therefore, possibly meaningless--attempt to compare between the output of the SL2 with Vario-Elmarit 24-70 at 24mm, full aperture, with the Leica M10M with 50mm Noctilux 0.95 (full aperture, here), and the Leica Q2M at full aperture (here).  I have used both LR and CO21 to edit both the Leica Q2M and the SL2 shots. This artwork, almost certainly for a Moslem praying, is part of the exhibitions of a new museum here in Washington, DC.  More about the museum, Planet Word, is here.   Please share your thoughts and kindly observe that resolution improves considerably when viewed on the light-box.   Regards.

...here is another one from my sunset day mining shooting - a pano stitched from 15 vertical shots with the VE 90-280mm @106mm. It is certainly not impressive watching it on the screen, but total size is 368MP and it will be possible  to print it 4m wide at 300ppi. So maybe I should reach out to the mining company and suggest this would be a good one for their board room? ;)
