Thanks for sharing. How is de Mp-65 on the SL2? I have this lens ( currently shooting it on 5D mkII). I also have the 100 AME and some M lenses (50 APO, 90APO, 35 luxFLE)...Thinking about getting the SL2...

I used the MPE before on a Canon  5 D III. Yo have to use an adapter either the Novoflex or the Sigma MC 21. I did find no disadvantage on the SL 2 compared with the 5 D III but three  advantages. First one is the stabilisation through the SL 2 which allows to take same shots without a tripod, which would be the best of course and is a must if stacking will be done.  These shots have all been made without a tripod. Second advantage is the higher resolution which allows cropping in some limits. Thord point is, that   the viewfinder and the live view of the camera are much better than these of the 5 D III.

This might be a silly question, but does AF work when using canon lenses on the SL2?

It works, depending on the lenses  but practically not or not reliable in very short distances, i.e in macro distance. The MPE 65 has no AF even on a Canon - that is a very special lens. For longer distances and the 180mm  and the 100 mm the AF works better, but not very quick. . But there are other Canon lenses - i.e. the 70 - 200 IS 2,8 III, where the performance of the AF is better but not so good as with the native 90 - 280. Once there was a thread dealing with performance of EF lenses and the Novoflex adapter  on the SL in this forum - I think things will be valid on the SL 2 too. Only difference might be that the SL 2 accepts the Sigma 21 adapter too, which is cheaper. With the SL this was the case with firmware 3.4 but not mor with 3.5. The latest firmware for the SL is 3,6, I do not know if there is a change again. Just for information reason  both adapters are not accepted of the CL.
