Is the filter thread pitch different than other lenses with 39mm threads?

From Wiki:

Summicron-C 2/40mm

Filter type - 39mm x 0.75mm 5.5 series

See this page:

Typo...

And the only new 5.5 adapter online - by Heavystar-  has an incorrect thread, which can result in the adapter binding severely on the Summicron 40. I had to have Will van Manen remove one by cutting it.

The original lens hood, obviously, is fine. One can fit a 5.5 series filter behind it, or even the glass from any 39 mm filter. (which will rattle a bit)

39mm filter is not usable on either Leica/Minolta/Rokkar CL lens. Both the 40 & 90 came with a series 5.5 hood/holder. That hood/holder screws into the standard 40.5 threads on the lenses. Which means you can use 40.5 filters on either lens or series 5.5 with the holder/hood.

Mixed things here Summicron-C 2/40mm original would never accept 40.5 mm filter that later M-Rokkor (for CLE then) accept (E40.5 filter not E39):

- for CL , original Summicron-C 2/40mm or M-Rokkor for Minolta CL and Elmar-C 4/90mm filter serie 5.5

- later M-Rokkor 2/40mm (for CLE) and 4/90mm accept filter E40.5

40.5mm Rokkors referred to above are lenses for the Minolta CLE, not Leica or Minolta CL.

Interesting, bought this as a set. Leitz Minolta CL, 40.5 Rokkar 90mm and a 40.5 Rokkar 40mm. The 40mm was made in Japan and 90 was made in Germany. All from my leica dealer.

So you are saying this set was comprised from different generations?
