Guest VVJ Posted September 24, 2017 Share #141 Posted September 24, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree about the Q's lens . But the EVF and LCD are sub par . The EVF of the Q has a resolution of 3.68m. It is excellent and very sharp. The only EVF that I personally am aware of that is better is the one of the SL. I have never shot the Canon EOS M6 but I personally would be extremely surprised if it made the Q EVF look "sub par" as you put it.
Advertisement Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Hi Guest VVJ, Take a look here Code Name "Clooney". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted September 24, 2017 Share #142 Posted September 24, 2017 Speculation does not make it a fact and predictable such that existing TL2 owners feeling disappointed by a subsequent TL with built in EVF have only themselves to blame..., pretty strong words... I personally wouldn't be disappointed and welcome more bodies and especially better bodies and hopefully it will lead to more lenses (as rumored) as well. Well, I don't base my buying decisions only on fact. I also make an educated guess (speculation) about what might be coming along in the future. Like most people on this forum though, I am continually surprised to find that others don't think the same way as me.

Despite the lower specs , in real world use , I preferred the Canon's EVF and LCD . I have rented and used many different mirrorless cameras and found the Q's EVF / LCD sub par . But it's a great camera .

If we all thought the same it would be a boring world though...
IkarusJohn Posted September 24, 2017 Share #145 Posted September 24, 2017 (edited) Leica's X camera line has been discontinued, which suggests to me that the "Clooney" is to go in that direction. Just a guess. Really? The X, X-U, X Edition Moncler, XVario and X-E are all still listed here - https://us.leica-camera.com Granted, only the X-U seems to be listed for sale on B&H which raises the question for how long. IkarusJohn Posted September 24, 2017 Share #146 Posted September 24, 2017 You have large pockets!! For me personally the TL2 is not pocketable, so I wouldn't be bothered by a small increase in size although I very much like the form factor of the TL2. Perhaps Leica needs to get the Audi guys in again to brainstorm the design... Not at all. With no viewfinder and no strap, the TL2 with 28 Summaron-M fits into my jacket pockets, my cycling jersey pockets and the back pocket of my jeans (at a squeeze). The TL lenses make it bigger (I only have the 11-23 & 35).

John, Leica Miami only lists the X-U under the X camera line. Maybe it has a longer life since it is such a specialty camera. I cannot explain why Leica's site still list the X cameras, but there are suggestions throughout the internet that the other X cameras have been discontinued. miro Posted September 25, 2017 Author Share #150 Posted September 25, 2017 (edited) ... speaking of the X , I'd like to see an XQ , or QX ; an X2 with 28mm . Edited September 25, 2017 by miro

Maybe we need an image thread for cameras in pockets.
IkarusJohn Posted September 25, 2017 Share #152 Posted September 25, 2017 Sounds like porn ... Try with your TL2 and body cap - the Sommaron barely protrudes beyond the grip. You’ll get the idea. I’ve posted a picture of the Summaron on the TL2 elsewhere on the forum - it definitely fits comfortably in a sensible pocket. Change pocket, not so much. Bigger than an iPhone? Yes. Smaller than a 1990s Motorola flip phone? Definitely. Split hairs all you like, with a small lens, this camera is small and convenient.
LocalHero1953 Posted September 25, 2017 Share #153 Posted September 25, 2017 I should have put a smiley on my post. I agree it's compact, though I don't have the Summaron 28.
Batman57 Posted September 25, 2017 Share #154 Posted September 25, 2017 Next TL camera will be a "small" SL: EVF, black only, sealed, professional look, a more traditional small companion of the SL, at a price positioning about 3.000 Euros. Do you wanna bet?
miro Posted September 25, 2017 Author Share #155 Posted September 25, 2017 Well,, the latest rumor is like a TL2 with some Q features , but you may be right !
earleygallery Posted September 25, 2017 Share #156 Posted September 25, 2017 If I had to guess, I would still think the "Clooney" is not going to be a TL2 with EVF, but rather some newly designed camera with a superb EVF and a more traditional user interface along the lines of the SL or Q. The TL lenses don't have aperture rings. The SL doesn't have a dedicated shutter speed dial. No 'traditional' interface to fit with a new TL mount camera. I expect we will see a 'mini SL' - effectively a TL2 with built in EVF but something that looks more like an SL than a TL/2.

Yes, I would be more inclined to see that as the "Clooney". I just do not see a physical TL2 clone with built in EVF.

jonatdonuts Posted September 25, 2017 Share #159 Posted September 25, 2017 A traditional Leica CL body with TL mount would look more tasty than George CLooney seasoned with salt and pepper...
lx1713 Posted September 25, 2017 Share #160 Posted September 25, 2017 I'd rather have the same SL body but with 1.5X cropped 24mp sensor. And a lower price tag.
