Britain was hit with an incredible snow storm over the last week. Dubbed 'the beast from the east', it brought swathes of the country to a standstill. If you live in the UK, doubtless you experienced it to some degree. I've never seen snow like that in Glasgow, and I've lived here almost all my life. It was great for photos though.

Those winter pictures are fantastic. All are winners! Hard to decide which one I liked the most ... they all convey coldness and hardship. I loved all of them.

I shot these three pictures on my trusty M Monochrom mk1, all with the 50mm Summilux ASPH black chrome lens.

Did my best to keep the camera dry, since it's not waterproof, but it pretty much got soaked. Still seems to be holding up though. The digital M's do seem to be pretty robust. And it's nice to see that lots of people still have M8s ticking along.

Fabulous, as always. Thanks for getting out there and braving the cold!

Spectoral apparitions from another dimension? Or just cool spooky artifacts of a multi element lens.  I prefer the first, but the later is true.  Either way its an interesting looking thing...  Art Bell would love it.  Lets call it the "Time Vortex Light Portal"

Its a 50mm summicron.  V4 on an M9.  It happens when I shoot into the sun obviously.

"Moma always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun..."

"But Moma, that"s where the fun is!"

"Wrecked up like a duchent ofa  rooner  in the night??" What? Really?

Such mystery....

Great, now I can't get this song out of my head ...

I have exactly the same set-up ('cron V4 on M9) – I need to try this!

If any lenses can show you glimpses of another dimension, then Leica lenses.
