  1. I was going to suggest Dwaynes, not that I've personal experience with them, but I've read good reports. I have a lot of Fuji c200 (Agfa Vista 200) and I like it, but I'm not too worried about grain. https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/205842-i-like-filmopen-thread/page/3196/?tab=comments#comment-3832100 Pete
  2. Adan wrote a nice comparison of two or three 21mm lenses somewhere. He posted some enlightening colour rendering comparison shots from a couple of lenses. He settled on a 21 preasph elmarit because of its colour rendering (as well as having good sharpness and low distortion, I think). Have a search for threads on 21mm lenses. Pete
  3. If you set the iso to 200 and go outside in the bright sunshine and set the aperture to f16, what shutter speed is your camera telling you to use when pointing at a brightly lit sunshiney scene? Pete
  4. That's quite a selection of Posing Pouches you have there Pete
  5. I wonder if this image would be so strong if it had distracting or no bokeh
  6. On seeing a good photo, I have never enlarged it to examine the corners. Pete
  7. I'm not that keen on cats so I prefer to think of it as my pee. Pete
  8. Get a new one. It will be yours and yours alone. Unsullied by another's hands. You'll also be supporting Leica's film division letting them know we're still out here. Pete
  9. How I wish politicians were honourable nowadays as was Tony Benn. Always trying to do what's right and not what's convenient or self serving. What a shower of politicians we seem to have in the main. Pete
  10. Have I missed further regulations for air travel? I thought a facemask was sufficient. Pete
  11. No, I don't think so. A good photo sets you off thinking. As I alluded to with Tom Waits' album name "Frank's Wild Years", when I look at this image I imagine a respectable man who's always played by the book always towing the line despite the injustices pressed on him but internally always wanted to rebel. Here we see him in his latter years having finally burst and enjoying the relief that brought 😂 Pete
  12. New title: "Franks Wild Years". Pete
  13. Actually, getting on for 4 years ago. Pete
  14. A couple of days ago I resolved to sell my Leica M240 and Leica Q. They are the best digital cameras I've owned and I enjoyed using them for the month I used them 2 or 3 years ago! Digital just holds no interest for me and what I'm interested in. In a week's time I'll be picking up my new enlarger. I haven't done any printing since my O Level in about 1983, but I've just had a desire for a few months to have another go. Film photography is so interesting. Getting the exposure right, developing the negatives, learning to scan, and soon, developing the prints. I've renewed my relationship with my Hasselblad, dusted off the Pentax 67 and found my Fujifilm GF670. But what is important in photography, apart from creating an image, is having fun and I just don't get it with digital. Pete
  15. These are beautiful, Paul. Pete
  16. This is an amusing watch. I've been slowly working my way through his videos and it has been good fun all the way. Here, he picks up a 30 year old Ilford Pan F film. The outcome surprised me. Pete
  17. No, but I would expect the grain to be more noticeable for obvious reasons. What was the problem you found? I just did the usual 1+4 for 8mins at 20C. I agitated continuously for about 30 secs in the first minute, then 5 inversions every minute after. I metered the TriX at 400. Pete
  18. I have been using something similar (an £8 aquarium thermostat heater and an aquarium pump) but the Cinestill is much quicker. The Novatronic temperature range seems too high for my needs (20C). Another option could be a cheap sous vide but I could never find the minimum temperature setting for them. If you put a digital thermometer in the water then heated up to the desired temperature you're almost there. Pete
  19. Life just got a little easier. It's a bit of a chore getting chemicals to the desired temperature so I eventually bit the bullet and bought a Cinestill. What a difference! Quick to heat the water to the desired temperature. It can be used to maintain the temperature of your water bath if you use one. Recommended. Pete
  20. It doesn't look like our moon. With which planet does it dance? 😂 Pete
