The view through older Glass

Raid, the Forum's rules are that posted photos must have been taken with a Leica camera or Leica lens (or both) so pictures from a non-Leica lens are fine providing it was a Leica camera. :)

Pete.

Hi Pete,

Once I realized this fact, I tried to delete all posts, but I couldn't figure out how to delete my posts.

That 45/2 is purportedly one of the sharpest 'normal' lenses made in the past 40 years. Has that been your experience, Raid?

I am a statistics professor, but I do not have such a "statistic"! I know that this lens is very good overall. I have one in G mount and one in M mount.  Someone sold it after converting it professionally to Leica M mount. It has all the known Zeiss signs of excellence.

I took this yesterday, its not a particularly meritorious photo, but it does show just how sharp an "old glass" lens is. The lens is a collapsible 50mm Voigtlander Heliar in a screw mount; the shot is wide open (F:/3.5!) with rfdr focus on the nearer insulators of the tower. The file is less than 300Kb. Regards, Ron
