Leica 28 Summicron Lens shade 12466

Hello all,

 

Any tips or guidance to track down the allusive 12466 shade? I have been keeping my eye out on eBay for a couple of years but haven't had any luck so far.

 

I noticed I missed one pop up in early August but unfortunately didn't see it.

 

Anywhere else to look?

i got one from popflash photo when i was looking. They don't have one on the site now but it's a place to keep an eye on.

a reminder to tighten up the screws on mine. i used to use a smaller, old version (pre-fle) 35lux hood because it doesn't block the finder as much as the 28 hood. although it vignettes slightly, it does fit correctly & work.

The 28 Summicron V1 is one of my favorite Leica lenses and I almost upgraded because I like the newer style hood. Silly I know.

Bought a brand new one a few years back. Don't feel like using such an expensive oranament though

My hood has a few small marks and stays on my 28 often in a bag over the shoulder. You'd have to get up close to know it wasn't mint. Like all or most Leica finishes its quite hardy

I prefer the Contax hood. Seems more compact.
