Can I put a question in between. Ich would love the 21 SEM. I wonder then what finder I should use: There is the LV or I could buy the EVF to put on top. And then there is the option with the special mirror Bright-Line Viewfinder M. Is there a favourite and why?

I use my 21mm Elmarit on my M-P without LV or a finder.

With experience, you can learn to judge the view which is just beyond the extreme edges of the viewfinder view.

Of course, this won't work when high accuracy is needed but it works for me 90% of the time.

I used a Ricoh GV-1, Leica Bright-line and a Voigtlander. I preferred the Ricoh, but it had the inconvenience of the eyepiece being dislocated to the right, covering the shutter speed readout.

While it is a little large and awkward, the Voigtlander (Cosina) adjustable/variable finder is pretty accurate. It gives you an accurate view for almost all wideangle lenses and is usable with the three principal digital sensor sizes. I usually don't use an external finder, but if I need accuracy this is the one I use. Regards, Ron

Mini-Series

„Marcel Dupré’s Organ“

I did not wish to clutter this thread with a series of 6 pictures. I would be happy, if you occasionally dropped by :) (link to seperate thread below; 6 of 7 pictures are ultra wide).

I am showing some photographs taken during a private visit to the former home of French composer and organ virtuoso Marcel Dupré (1886-1971) in Meudon near Paris.

Room for framing inside the organ works was quite limited ;)

By the way, I never thought, I would buy a Visoflex 20. However, since I do not use a tripod / level most of the time, the Visoflex is very helpful for sorting out perspective & leading lines with ultra/hyper wide lenses, imho. Otherwise, I would prefer an optical viewfinder...

Kind regards

Mathias

I used a new CV10 on my SL for this pic at Bad Water in Death Valley recently. I find that the near corners are more smeared than I would like, even shooting at "optimal" f stops (f/8 or 11) and focusing on those corners. Tremendous DOF though :). It seemed to be best when cropped square. A year or so ago, I had the CV12 but returned it due to soft corners, but will keep this one due to unique FL (I am much happier with the CV15III though, see next post).
