ola.fiske Posted April 16, 2019 Share #342 Posted April 16, 2019 A two lens travel kit must be a 28, plus’s another 28 as a backup. And a small 50 in my pocket if things screw up😂

It is a pity Leica or Voigtlander have never taken up the idea. Edited April 17, 2019 by Nick_S
FrozenInTime Posted April 17, 2019 Share #344 Posted April 17, 2019 I can’t really add much more than has already been said : More often than not, two lenses is a good number,, but which two changes almost every trip.

I saw that Leica gear IS light even with giant Noctilux/Summilux choices. Anyway, I think that you have reached the "non -return-stage" 😇 (as I did for long). The 1405g Summaron 28mm combined with Noctilux 50mm could be my choice, by now. I thought they are more weighty together than that. 🍾 👌Happy birthday Del-Uks 🍸

jplomley Posted April 18, 2019 Share #350 Posted April 18, 2019 Does anyone carry two M10’s with there favourite lenses mounted? Seems to me one M10 with two lenses is not ideal when a shot comes up and you miss the opportunity whilst changing lenses
Narsuitus Posted April 18, 2019 Share #351 Posted April 18, 2019 @Del-Uks What about Leica M10 + Summilux 35mm + Tele-Elmarit 90mm ?

Seems to me one M10 with two lenses is not ideal when a shot comes up and you miss the opportunity whilst changing lenses Not M10s, but film Ms. I carry two bodies with lenses mounted when travelling overseas. Last trip it was 28 Elmarit M ASPH and 50 Summicron. I’ve taken other combinations that include a 35 Summaron 2.8. The wider lens (28 or 35) invariably becomes the primary shooter.
jcatral14 Posted April 24, 2019 Share #354 Posted April 24, 2019 Let me throw a monkey wrench to this discussion lol What if you have 2 bodies and want to bring an extra lens. M240 + M246. Lenses available are WATE, 50APO, 35Cron, 28 Summaron and 90APO. Asking for a friend 😉
ljsegil Posted April 24, 2019 Share #355 Posted April 24, 2019 Doesn't carrying two bodies kind of defeat the idea of traveling light? LJS 2

LJS Thanks for your comment but my point is not to travel light but to simplify my kit. Also if you noticed, one is color and the other is monochrome👍 🙂 Edited April 24, 2019 by jcatral14

Gregm61 Posted April 25, 2019 Share #358 Posted April 25, 2019 Two lenses for me today would be the 35mm f2.4 Summarit and 21mm f3.4 Super Elmar. But.....I would also toss the 75mm f2.4 in the bag too, LOL....two is one too few.

RexGig0 Posted April 26, 2019 Share #360 Posted April 26, 2019 (edited) I have traveled with a 35mm f/2 and a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, though Canon, not Leica. Having added Leica M about a year ago, I have 35mm covered, already, with a 3.5cm Summaron M, and a Zeiss 1,4/35mm Distagon ZM. Earlier today, I was browsing on-line for Leica-M 90mm Macro Elmar lenses. One of these 35mm lenses, and the 90mm Macro Elmar, would complete an equivalent kit. I would, however, have a very difficult time leaving on a journey, without my Summilux-M 50mm APSH, the lens that originally prompted me to add the Leica M system. I had been using Canon and Nikon SLR systems, and went on a grail-quest for the 50mm lens with the rendering I wanted. Well, I found the lens, the Summilux-M 50mm ASPH, but had to add a new camera , to be able to use it, therefore, my M10. So, if I just had to limit myself to two lenses, I would choose my Summilux, and one of the 35mm lenses. On traveling with two Leica M cameras, well, yes, though an M10, and a Monochrom 246, in my case. I would probably use the 35mm lens on the Monochrom, mostly zone/scale focusing, and use the 50mm on the M10, as its viewfinder is better-suited for rangefinder focusing while wearing eyeglasses.
