this is my very first series of my new setup with

Canon 5D MKII+Elmarit 180 mm, tripod, flashlight and handheld silver reflector.

A quiet evening in our local Botanical Garden.

You may have a look and perhaps you may enjoy the walk.

These are really beautiful, particularly the first image with it's great use of backlighting.

We are so deprived of colours and flowers here right now as we are in the middle of winter.

These lovely shots are a pleasure to see.

Dee.

Stuart,

thank you for taking time and your response.

Dee,

that is good and makes me feel that these pictures have a meaning. The first one is also my favourite and it was very tricky to get the light right. I have 2 other options but selected this one.

Karl,

thanks for your encouraging comment.

Paul,

usually there always an interesting point of issue in your answers. Here I am quite happy you mentioned the focus. With these lenses one has to paln carefully and only at the PC you see whether you got the focus right. I use a polarizer and a focus screen for manual focussing which both make the screen darker. But you get used to this and sometimes I use an additional lamp when daylight is getting low.
