Yes the Elpro 52 works well with the XV ...even though the XV was not included on the Leica Camera AG list of recommended E52 use cameras ... likely omitted because of the 'trombone' action of the zoom lens for its longer focal lengths when the zooming is compromised by any 'wider than 43mm' accessory screwed onto the filter thread. However, this problem can be remedied by use of a 43mm spacer ring ... stocked by SRB Dunstable.

Thank you very much for these useful informations. I bought the Elpro 52 some days ago in as good as new condition for a very good price. Unfortunately there were no instructions how to use it with the XV.

I only used a 43mm to 52mm stepping ring and when zooming I had the problems you described. I have already ordered the (fixed?) spacer ring stocked by SRB Dunstable.

I am pleased to see social-distancing and mask-wearing is required. Sadly, we have the opposite situation. I like the fence design.

Lawrence, I really like this street scene, for two reasons.  First, the masterly way you captured detail, in both highlights and shadows.  Second, you have recorded interesting human activity without embarrassing anybody. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into a place, unknown to me.

Experimenting using a £15 Aldi LED rechargeable 10Watt WORK LIGHT as a photo studio light to illuminate a 2ft Lastolite Cubelite inside which set up a 'Lady Praying' bronze bust ... bust is black bronze ...   plinth is black granite  ... so introduced more colour by using a home made gold reflector on LHS ... the LHS also has a white foam board reflector to throw some light back into the shadows ... gold reflector actually handheld at 7 'clock position in front of the bust ... not at the side as shown in the apparatus photo ... Gold reflector made by brushing a piece of card with Daler-Rowney 'Sovereign Gold' "GOLDFINGER" paste ... which takes 24 hours to dry before 'polishing' to increase its reflectance. Custom white balance taken of white interior not including the gold reflection. Comments would be appreciated as I'm colour blind ... looks OK to me but not sure how others might see it colour-wise.  The soft paint brush in foreground is used to brush the dust off the bronze and the acrylic infinity sweep background

The cube-light reflection in the right eye of the second picture, spoils the intended effect. Otherwise, fine. Colour appears natural and convincing. Whether you can see it, or not, the use of a grey card will have reduced, if not eliminated, colour contamination. You are, in part, compensating for your declared colour perception problem. I admire the use of low-cost mini-studio apparatus, and you are a master of improvisation. Well done!
