The sharpness in center with Summilux 35 is outstanding

I need this sharpness because i focus on hands :)

* or "hairy"

For price and size not many lenses beat the VC 35mmf2.5 color skopar

I happen to agree with you Philip, I find the bokeh of the 35 FLE from 1.4 - 2.8 quite pleasant,

Very nice Henry. A timeless photograph.

Yes the 35 Summilux FLE does flare (the horror, unacceptable!).

Personally I find the out of focus at f1.4 pleasant.

Good question. I washed and washed the tripod and legs after each shooting with soapy water and then let it out to dry over night in the dry heat. Despite this, the tripod did not dry!!! To this day, if you lick it it is like you dipped your tongue in the Dead Sea water :) This has the knock on effect of making my steering wheel in my car intensely salty, which has had the further knock on effect of maintain the slight rash that I have on my forehead from the oils derived from the salt that apparently doesn't agree with me... :o

Your the only person I know who licks his tripod legs I'm getting a bit worried about you[emoji3]

Not that I use a tripod all that much (I prob should at times), but a point well taken and often neglected.

That´s why I show you some pics made with low-budget equipment! The ME-super with the 50 /1.7 was next to nothing...

And a tripod is sometimes the greatest improvement for image- sharpness...

Thanks Gary for your advice.

As you know , I have already a 50 and a 35 Summilux Asph bought for my 2 digital M cameras.

Both are good and both give me entire satisfaction. I have also a 28 Summicron Asph a good lens too as another

Wide Angle.

May be you're right about this Summicron . It seems nice for me to have this lens in waiting (may be) to purchase

the FLE which costs nevertheless more than 4200 Euros .... a good lens but very expensive and a little heavy IMO.

Adam , interesting information. Sure I am now full in film and not at all or less in digital . Summicron 35 Asph is also made for film and I think it's a good compromise . :)

About Summicron , we have also a version IV (1979) called "King of bokeh" that some photographers like much and prefer instead the Asph.

Anyway it's interesting to talk with you and see before going to spend money... and as said Gary , keep your money :D

Thanks again to both of you , thanks also to Marc :) .

Best

Henry

I can think of a lot of things I could buy for €4200 when you already have a wonderful lens, I have to make do with VC 35mm Color Skopar [emoji23] but it is a very good lens

For Gary NZ - A terrible set of scans of terrible condition slides (not their fault - they've been dragged through jungles, cyclones, deserts, and several house moves with me having forgotten about their existence), but some of the PNG chopper pilots were your mates...

I developed the first 2 rolls yesterday. These were shot on a day at the mountains. All shot with a Contax T2 and Kodak TMax 100...the Contax was very fun to shoot with even though it missed the focus sometimes I found it's a very good companion for travels.

First time using the Kodak TMax 100 very happy with the results I will definitely use it in bright conditions!

Jonny superb b&w pictures with Kodak TMAX100 :)

Black and grey scale are very well reproduced with this film and in addition with a good definition.

You agree with me ?
