I come again to the two lenses 35 mm Summilux and Summicron Asph

because I found this in "M series : Their soul and secrets" of Erwin Puts :)

Conclusion of Erwin Puts :

"The Summilux 35M Asph at the wider aperture is a bit overstretched in its capabilities. Stopped down it is a good performance but that is not the reason you will buy a 1.4 design.

The Summicron 35 M Asph was and is an excellent lens.It is a tribute to the designer of that lens that it took Leica 20 years and the most modern design and production technology to bring optical quality to a higher level.

Summicron and Summilux M Asph are the modern designs and are capable of higher image quality than the Summilux M and the Summicron M.

The differences are visible but you need to compare the images side by side to see it convincingly.

The Summicron M Asph is a superb general-purpose lens with a very even and excellent performance.

The Summilux M Asph is a lens that brings Summicron quality into a f/1.4 design. The Summicron and Summilux have a different fingerprint and photographic capabilities and therefore a different audience.

If you need the best performance available at f /1.4 there is no alternative. The 1.4 is more susceptible to flare and has less flatness of field.

If f/2 is enough for you the flavor of Summicron M Asph and its price/volume are very attractive.

Interesting advice :)

Yes the 35 Summilux FLE does flare (the horror, unacceptable!).

Personally I find the out of focus at f1.4 pleasant.

I suggest you read Erwin's later article on the 35m Summarit ...

http://www.imx.nl/photo/leica/lenses/lenses/page83.html

Harold thank you , I do not know this EP article on Summarit :)

Effectively it is a new optical line allowing Leica to produce more but keeps the legendary

quality of Leica optics. Furthermore it is almost half the price.

For 35 Summarit I notice that the flare is almost absent , what is good isn't Philip :)

Thanks Philip for your pictures and comment.

A 35mm FLE costs more than 4200 Euros in France.Sometimes flare gives a nicer picture IMO

Your second picture is effectively pleasant and nice by the luminosity of the place.

Nice "red wine" color too :) The advantage of the Summilux wide open at f/1.4 is demonstrated

in your picture and without flash or tripod !

Yes the flare on the Summarit 35 and 50 is virtually absent

I think the "old" summicron was less contrasty then the summarit, more of a wavy MDA curve and longer focus throw

This is a taste issue. The summarit is very contrasty and a shorter focus throw, also with no focus shift.

I think the "latest" summicron has increased contrast and also nicer bokeh generally so perhaps the competition is different now

Personally the "new" 28mm Summicron  is my next squeeze when I can find a dealer who will give me a discount ;)

Test Summicron 35 Asph continuation :)

On the front of this entrance, a fresco in color can be seen above, made with pieces of glass of different colors

that shine in the sun (white dots in the picture). This is the manufacturing method of Champagne wine.

The crop 100% shows that the letters are clearly visible,a good point for this lens.

"remuage" means "riddling". Champagne bottles are put in chalk cellars (constant temperature 11 ° C , all year)
Workers rotate the bottle, opening down, a quarter turn every week for the yeast to act on grape juice :)

"dégorgement" : "disgorging" . removing the foam that forms on top , operation called disgorging
"dosage" : bottle filling of fermented grape juice after disgorging
