tollie Posted March 19, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Night, a building undergoing renovation. I looked thru a pane of glass and saw this... it was the light falling on the reflective surfaces and pooling on the floor that caught my eye. I was exercising my little used 135mm. I shot this wide open at f4.0 with iso 2500... 1/125. With this lens I have trouble hand holding at speeds much slower... so a bit of noise and a dof shallower than I might have preferred. With this jpg the blacks are a bit more blocked then they appear on my computer. Many thanks for looking and for any comments you may have. leicamann Posted March 20, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 20, 2012 Well its certainly NOT a landscape..but it is a very cool composition..reminds me of some of the Cubist sculptures. Thanks for sharing Cheers, JRM
tollie Posted March 20, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted March 20, 2012 Many thanks Stu and JRM, The cubist take is very nice... the planes which intersect... the reduction in complexity... I can see it. It was the light and its fall which caught my eye... almost a "Hopperesq" forlorn quality in the scene... but the structure is there and the abstraction is there. pauledell Posted March 20, 2012 Share #5 Posted March 20, 2012 Todd, Excellent use of light on the stark cold subject. This reminds me of a workshop of evil. Great tones, lighting, composition and sharpness. Paul
