On monday when coming home from my work the sky changed into a promising foreboding glow. I grabbed my stuff in haste, snatched a sturdy tripod, snatched my raincovers and when I sat in the car it started raining. As I reached my location it seemed as if the major downpour happened somewhere else. In front of my eyes there unfolded a spectacular light and cloud formstion. I could not run for a better vantage point because light changed very quickly. Canon 5 D MKII with R Elmarit 28 mm and Olympus EM 5 with Nocticron. The colors were as such, processed from RAW the files only underwent a small correction in contrast and came out of the camera in these incredible colors. I used a GND filter for the Elmarit which gave me about 3 f-stops freedom for exposure. EM 5, Nocticron, 4 pictures pano

the best afterwork relaxation is a visit to our local Botanical Garden. It is close and one has not to haul along the gear very much. These days light is fading more quickly and I was in a hurry to catch some last light, a reflector helped. both with Canon 5D MKII + Elmarit R 180 mm

Our local Botanical Garden is a fine after work recreation area. I tried out something when sun was very low and most flower beds were already veiled by summer's dusk. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 60 mm macro plus Leica APO converter 2x, tripod, reflector and free external flash. It is a matter of patience and time to manipulate flash power and angle plus distance to reflector. flash bounced against reflector from slightly left flash bounced against reflector from above left without flash, only with reflector, longtime exposure approx. 1/2 - 1 sec.

this is a further sample from my new illumination project. On sunday it was warm but overcast and at 7 p.m there was already a touch of dusk settling in. o a grey and dull atmosphere. And this light was being mixed with the flash. Canon 5D MKII + Elmarit R 60 mm macro+handheld flash bounced against a reflector from almost below the blossom.
