  1. El Castro de Las Gaviotas, an impressive sea arch in the Asturias, Spain shot at sunrise. Leica S and Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  2. "El Picon", an incredible rock formation, close to Llanes in the Asturias, at sunset. Leica S (Typ 007), 70mm Summarit-S. Best regards, Vieri
  3. Playa de Portizuelo, in the Asturias, with its stunning double-holed sea arch. Leica S (Typ 007), Leica 70mm Summarit-S. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri
  4. A spectacular sunrise at beautiful Playa Ballota, in the Asturias (Spain), one of my favourite destination along this marvellous coast. Leica S (Typ 007), Leica Summarit-S 35mm, Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  5. Playa Ballota is a great location - the islet is a spectacular background, and there is plenty of foreground interest. Just love it!! Leica S (Typ 007), Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  6. I love Badwater in Death Valley: it's an extraordinary location, its landscapes are ever changing and with a sunset storm the light there becomes really magic. Leica S (Typ 007), Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  7. After the vertical one taken with the Leica SL I posted a while ago, one more Sunrise at Playa de Gueirua in the Asturias (Spain), this time in landscape format and with a slightly longer lens (28mm FOV instead of 15mm). Playa de Gueirua is really amazing with the right sky and definitely worth the descent (and ascent back up!). This time is Leica S (Typ 007) and Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  8. "The end of the line", shot in Death Valley (USA) with the Leica S and Summarit-S 35mm. The drive to the Racetrack can be a bit taxing, especially if you don't have the right car for it, but it definitely worth it: such an amazing place, not to be missed! Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  9. "Portizuelo's Devil", in Asturias (Spain). You need to do some acrobatics to get to Portizuelo when the tide is high, blocking access to the beach; however, the landscape there is definitely worth the shower. Leica S (007), Leica Summarit-S 70mm, Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  10. The arch at Playa de Campiecho, in the Asturias, at sunset. Leica S (Typ 007), Summarit-S 35mm. 60 seconds @ F/11. Thanks for viewing, best Vieri
  11. Playa de Ballota, Asturias, at sunrise Leica S, Summarit-S 35mm, 8 seconds @ f/16. Thanks for viewing, best Vieri
  12. I have a question about Leica S APO_ELMAR 180mm, at WO f3.5, when I hit the DOF preview, I can see the aperture blade actually close some instead of WO. To verify further, I tried at f4, it is indeed close a little bit further and each stop will close more. Can you guys who have this lens check. I took an image WO, and look through the lens, I can see the aperture indeed close a little before shutter close. From what I guess, if the exposure indeed at f3.5, the lens most likely f2.8 if not close. The reason I find this out is I notice bokeh light source ball is not fully rounded at WO.
  13. Just as the title says: Symmetries at Playa Ballota, Spain. Leica S (007), Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Best, Vieri
  14. Back from Death Valley, while I am processing the hundreds of images gotten during my Workshops there I thought I'd post a little sunset study from Riomaggiore, in le Cinque Terre: Leica S (007), Leica Summarit-S 35mm, 8 sec @ f/8. Best, Vieri
  15. Hey guys, I wrote an article about using the Contax 645 lenses on the Leica S system cameras you can read it here: Using the Leica S with Contax 645 lenses
  16. A sunset from the Valli di Comacchio, Italy. Taken with the Leica S (007 ) and the Vario-Elmarit-S 30-90mm. 3 sec @ f/11. Best, Vieri
  17. A Sunset Study, in le Cinque Terre (Italy) with the Leica S (Typ 007) and the 35mm Summarit-S f/2.5. Best, Vieri
  18. Hi, I have a SL and use my 75 lux or 50 nocti f1 to shoot portraits with it. Mostly I shoot wide open, but not always. I'm thinking to buy a S-system to do studio portraits but I'm wondering about the difference in rendering and IQ (keeping my SL too ) Of course, I know a medium format will have this special beautiful look and less dof but I'm just curious... Watching a lot of images shot with a S-system, I prefer the typ006 for the ccd rendering... So, if anybody can post the same image/portait/ shot with both systems should be nice Any input would be appreciated! Thanks and best regards Peter
  19. My recent blog post and summarized feedback on the Leica S007 after using it for over a year, including my recent trip to Iceland with behind the scene photos. This review is mainly based on my own personal experience of using this system in combination of a few S lenses in the field. http://www.faran.gallery/blog/2016/7/15/the-harsh-winter-of-iceland You can follow my work on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/farannajafi/ Travel / Architecture: www.faran.gallery Fashion and portraiture: www.faranstudio.com Thanks! 20. The Arch at Playa de Campiecho, in the Asturias. Leica S (Typ 007), Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best Vieri
  21. Today I published an article dedicated to the Leica 30-90mm Vario-Elmar-S in the field on the Leica S (007), including my consideration about using it on the Leica SL. Here it is: https://vieribottazzini.com/2017/03/leica-30-90mm-f3-5-5-6-vario-elmar-s-asph-user-report.html Hope you'll enjoy the read and images! Best, Vieri
  22. Sunrise at the Cinque Terre, Italy. Leica S (007), Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best Vieri
  23. I've just received the new Leica S half case and strap by Angelo Pelle http://www.angelo-pelle.com . In the past I had a lot of half cases for by M made by Angelo Pelle but with the S he went even a step further regarding fitting. The case and strap are wonderfully finished in real Italian leather with a beautiful irregular texture. The backdoor is also included and integrated in the half case. The case protects the S and makes it a second skin. You don't need to remove the case for fitting a tripod which is very handy. Angelo Pelle offers a lot of different colors/finishes for the S on his website. Shot with Leica MM CCD and 75mm Summilux
  24. The amazing cliffs and lighthouse of Neist Point, the westernmost land point on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, bathed in the soft light of a spectacular sunset. With the Leica S (007), Leica Super-Elmar-S 24mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thanks for viewing, best Vieri
  25. Moody Talisker Bay, on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, after sunset. Taken during one of my Workshops on Skye last spring with the Leica S (Typ 007), the Leica 35mm Summarit-S and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
