Is this a Leica speculation thread?

So perhaps 23 October is also speculation?

Only one thing is 100% sure.  On that day a new thread will be started here and the word "disappointment" will be the most used one.

I'm going to speculate that whtever is announced, there will not be a dramatic improvement in the imagery posted from it.

It will depend upon focus aids i suspect. Many Leica users seem to believe that focusing with an EVF is more difficult than with an RF, which it is not in my experience. The reason is perhaps that i use autozoom at working aperture, contrary to many EVF users, and the technique they prefer is slower. Some rumors seem to believe that new focus aids will be added to focus peaking and focus magnification. Any educated guess about that?

The good thing about the M system is that it doesn't have many distractions. EVF with Visoflex works fine when it is needed for specific things, but RF is the key in the system. An EVF is a massive distraction.

If they want to innovate, why don't they add a Lidar to the M system?
When they have the best in topography at home, and other camera companies have already beaten them to it with the laser, that's a real shame.

I also don't see the company targeting photographers today. It's like Apple with AI; they're making a fool of themselves and wasting money, simply because they don't have someone responsible to guide them.
