It’s a bug - sorry - it was only supposed to be able to show Rugby and Croquet

Could be a lot worse. Imagine every time you put a 28 mm on and look through the rangefinder you start seeing Eurovision clips...

Well that was weird. I am updating a Leica M11M, downloaded to a freshly formatted SD card, had 100% power and for some reason, I could see the firmware update in camera settings up could not select it. I tried downloading again, different SD card and same thing.

I don't like using the app for updates as I had a bad experience updating my Q3 not long ago but figured I'd try that route.

I had trouble connecting with the App, deleted the iphone from the camera and finally was able to update the firmware. I had connected a USB-C cable and connection that way was not going smoothly either, got an error in the middle of the update..left it alone and a few minutes later the update was complete..A strange combination of things not working.

Seems to have worked, didn't lose profiles or numbering.

That wasn't so much fun though!

Updated both M11 and M11 Mono, and it seems so far the FW has solved a couple of issues: 1. consistent sharpness of JPEG preview of RAW file (previously only the first shot preview is sharp, though this doesn't affect RAW files); 2. much better AWB; 3. reduced magenta tint, which gives more accurate color overall; 4. no camera freeze so far (I didn't have that many to begin with). Very happy so far with firmware 2.1.1. and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Reduced magenta tint sounds like a very welcome change!

I did a comparison before and after the firmware update and there is no change to white balance or reduced magenta tint, sadly.

Same lack of magenta cast before and after the firmware update to me. I wonder if the slight red oversaturation i noticed is still there though. I'll do a comparo between the M11 color profile and a generic one when i have some time and will report if i find something interesting.

Updated with SD card. Took about 5 minutes, did say "update successful" at the end, and then it did shut itself down. All I had to do was physically turn off the camera and back on again and it was fine.

FWIW, I never had any freeze issues or corrupted file issues so I hope that continues. I was suffering from GAS but the update seems to have fixed that as well, though I could swear I saw "35 APO NOW AVAILABLE" flash on the screen for like a tenth of a second before it restarted. I cannot get this to repeat no matter what I try. Maybe I was imagining things.

I'm leaving for an Arizona vacation tomorrow so I bit the bullet and I did the update. It went well although it took a while to process it. I'm still baffled why it asks you if you want to save the profile on the SD card if saving the profile on the SD card actually messes up the whole process and you need to format the card again and copy again the firmware file on it. Basically my experience was always that if I select "Yes" when asked about saving the profile on the SD card, that thing stops the process. But, fortunatelly, you can format the card and try again. Successfully.

Same, but I did not select save on SD card. Albeit it took longer than usual for the camera to process the upgrade.

Updated  my M11P via Foto App. All good.  Operation seems a bit more lively overall. Imagination?  Possibly I guess but in general everything seems a little snappier… (no pun intended).

Updated via SD with no issues. At the conclusion of the install, the camera displayed a message ‘in green font’ that the update was successful, red LED stopped flashing, but no reboot. I waited a bit and the camera did still did not restart, so popped the battery out, removed the SD, battery back in, turned on the power and it’s all good with 2.11.  Thanks @leica!

Why did you update your famously flawless camera? Does risk make your blood boil?😀

Have updated two cameras. After the green font appeared, it took another 20-30 seconds until the screen went off and about another 5 seconds until the orange dot was off, which signals a writing. However, the instructions say that you should remove the SD card before restarting, which is not possible in this case when the camera itself starts. @LEICA, there is still room for improvement in the instruction

I've updated via the Fotos app and WiFi, halfway through had an error on the app saying it failed to transfer but after clicking retry it continued anyway. Ended with the green letters saying to restart the camera (think it said I had to restart it myself but don't remember the exact verbiage) - turned it off, on and voila. Hopefully this fix will stop most, if not all, issues people were having and this M11 forum can finally have less negative vibes.

I did get the 2.1.1 firmware about 9 days ago at our local camera shop house fair, where I had signed up for a workshop / photo walk with a Leica employee - call it a field test.

No freezes of course, but I've never had experienced any anyway.

According to him one of the things that have been changed is that for exposure compensation you don't have to press the thumb wheel/button to activate the compensation, but you can change the exposure compensation right away. So they've changed the default behaviour here, since apparently this confused users. Not so sure about that, cause even with having to press the button I still managed to accidentally change the exposure compensation so many times, and now it will probably happen even more often. I can still change it to the old behaviour...

Hm, I've been able to change exposure compensation without pressing the dial button since day 1 with the M11 and have the Fn of the wheel button set to white balance, clicking it opens the white balance menu and then i can spin the wheel to alternate between the options. So doesn't sound like a change to me?

same here no need toprss the dial, just scrolling the wheel is enough.
