It's now time to start talking about a wish list for the M13. The M12 is a done deal.

Very exciting! I didn't think Leica was quite there yet. If this is true, it will eliminate the need two separate lines for rangefinder and EVF, as we have thought.

I know it's just a rumor video, but it's also kind of an odd bird in that by using footage from previous generations it confirms that the M12 will be doing what previous M's can already do - but now for more money! That said, it will be interesting to see what they've come up with, if the rumors are true.

Oh, No!  Another rumor!  Assuming the previous product cycle, we don't expect the M12 till 2027.  As we get closer to that, we will get something more reliable.  In the meantime, I'll be happy shooting away in my M11P . . .

Time will tell. I'm not ready to dismiss it yet.

Yes, but they have a big '100 Years' event in June.

Yes, they should come up with something great. But if they've managed to pull this off already, they must have really been working hard.

It’s highly unlikely this one chap on YouTube has such specific insider knowledge on every major camera manufacturer out there.

There's some speculation that Leica insiders leak the info in order to create excitement and anticipation.

Since none of us know one way or the other, my suggestion is to just put this discussion on hold until the end of the year.

The M10-R was released in July 2020. The M11 was released in January 2022. A launch date at the end of 2025 for the M12 would not seem to be a break from tradition.

Well, among other things, this would make Stefan Daniel a liar regarding a hybrid VF, which he said was a definite “no go” after failed trials, primarily due to lack of space for enabling acceptable results.

I would very much like this particular rumour to be accurate and the timeframe for an M12 like you say would not be out of kilter with what we have seen in the past. My doubt with this particular chap is that all of his videos posted are regarding every major camera released in the last few years, if he is right then he could well be the most informed, super spy camera dude ever made and is probably wearing a cape. Or, it could be click bait. My guess is the latter but I’d be delighted if it was not the case as a hybrid viewfinder would be very interesting.

That YouTube channel has no sources. It steals video clips to create content for people to click on. It has no relevant content.

First of all, I doubt that Leica insiders are trying to generate excitement and anticipation . . .  They wouldn't suddenly turn into Sony (ha, ha).

Here is the timeline for introduction

M9 - 2009, M10- 2017, M10-R, 2020, and M11, 2022.

If we take the most optimistic view, we are looking at 2027.

Now I know why the EVF M Rumoured thread has stalled - it's going to be replaced by this 😂 and we'll have another pointless 850 comments in the next two weeks!  In the meantime, I'll just carry on taking photos . . .

Don't forget the M240-- September 2012.
