Did you wipe your SD card before adding the firmware to it? I didn't - I'm pretty sure that was the mistake. One which I won't make again.

I did not wipe it. Nor in camera or in my computer. It might be the cause, but still not as it should be.

Lucky and agreed. Reading through the release notes it says:

I experienced the same problem... After I removed the sd-card the M11 came to life again.

I also installed the LUDWIG-...1.2.1.0 updated firmware (aN INTERNAL VERSION() and got a dead camera as a result.  I have now removed the SD chip and it came back to life.  I will clean the SD chip in steps to see what particular removel lets it wake up.

I only removed the firmware update file, left all shots in place along with my profile update file (settings.lcse) throughout the process.  All seems fine now.

I do not dare to instal such rubbing: One is from Germany Leica site the other one from Switzerland Site. All official sites by the way.

 

Then the description of the changes is so minimal. As someone said already above: For Canon or Nikon we update firmware for many years. But never saw that.

The update instructions were for the Leica M10 series as well. Looks like they wanted to have it out before the weekend.

an update never showed up on the Fotos app for me. completed it the traditional way over SD

That first attempt was via cable...updating now via WiFi seemed to go smoothly

There is an update for Fotos on iOS. Version 3.0.3. Released a moment ago.

FW Update via Fotos app went well via Wifi...when completed it said "FW Update is complete, Please restart your camera"

I let that sit for about 30 seconds, then the camera automatically restarted and FW is installed.

 

BTW I was on Fotos 3.0.2

Ok, I have to say despite a small issue...updating via Fotos is very impressive. 

This should eliminate the problems that some users seem to have on every FW update with unzipping files or understanding what "root" means

2 questions:

1. What does “Fixes issue with stuck card for camera filter after disconnect” mean?

2. Did it totally reset the camera including numbering?

Important:

Here did happen what was a problem in one betatest update (and shouldn´t happen again). The camera does not work, if the firmware is on the SD-card. Remove the update on the SD-Card and everything should be fine.
