Ted Lemon Posted November 24, 2024 Share #601 Posted November 24, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I understand your sentiments. Actually the M11 Glossy Black seems to be based on an M11 not an M11P. I don’t understand the technical difference between BP or GP. But as pointed out somewhere else on the forum they probably have a number of parts sitting around and made up this concoction. Which neither warrants a limited edition status or anyone sane swopping their M11P for an M11GBP. Weird stuff.

The difference between BP and GBP has to do with, the black M11, P, Mono variants are a non glossy black paint on aluminum. The Glossy Black paint M11 as the name says is a Glossy Black paint on brass. There are two different types of black paint on the M11 now.
DennisPT Posted November 26, 2024 Share #603 Posted November 26, 2024 (edited) I haven't been able to carry my camera with me to work because of stress at work and my neck arthritis in the past year. My M9-P which has a lighter weight, didn't help me, my M10-P (now sold) which is a beautiful and a more capable camera didn't help. Until I have my M10-R BP, she enticed me to take her with me all day today! Even though I didn't take any photo, I felt I am connected! Maybe it's the black paint or maybe it's just me being biased... Having a trustworthy camera system in my bag gave me good vibe today and I really want to keep it going! A better chance to take photos. YMMV😊 Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! DennisPT Posted December 5, 2024 Share #604 Posted December 5, 2024 I came across an M10R-BP in ‘excellent condition’ from a German ebay seller. Price at Euro 9999. I have no affiliation with him. Just for everyone’s information. Also will see how the glossy M11 BP affects the black paint camera market.
M9reno Posted December 5, 2024 Share #605 Posted December 5, 2024 And another here, just listed. I also have no affiliation with this seller. jakontil Posted December 8, 2024 Share #608 Posted December 8, 2024 A very subtle difference in details between the M10R BP and M11 BP which might justify each decision Welcome, dear visitor! It is hard to tell in the images but it almost looks like they used a sharpie to black out the script. 🙁

I think the non-limited edition M11 GPB has slightly decreased M10R BP values.
satijntje Posted March 25 Share #616 Posted March 25 It seems that prices for the M10-r BP are going down. IMO it was always hard to believe that there were only 2000 pcs produced when overlooking the number of people that owned one……

I bought an M10P Safari (used) and have picked up used 28mm and 50mm Safari lenses over the last few years. I have never seen a used M 90mm Safari lens for sale listed. I use the M10P Safari more than the M10R. It's that 24MP sensor that makes it so easy to use handheld at low shutter speeds (for me, anyway). I think the non-limited edition M11 GPB has slightly decreased M10R BP values. Ivor knows the market very well and he prices products sensibly. Leica Mayfair would probably add another £1,500 and the camera would then sit on their shelf until a wealthy [less informed] buyer came along. I doubt the M11 Glossy Black has had much impact on M10R BP values. The differences, good or bad, between 10 and 11 have been discussed ad nauseam. If you really want the 11, you're unlikely to buy a secondhand 10 irrespective of the finish. Also, Red Dot currently has the same number of secondhand M11 cameras for sale than all the other digital M series combined. The ratio at Ffordes is the same.
costa43 Posted May 2 Share #619 Posted May 2 (edited) The M10-R BP is still the daddy for me, the M11 GB is not as appealing. I think the whole brassing over time thing suits the bottom plate design better. A brassing quick release bottom plate is not as classic really😏 Edited May 2 by costa43

Only difference is the battery bottom that seems to be aluminium. By the way, talking of 2000 limited M10-R‘s (if it’s true) maybe there won’t be much more M11 BP at the end?
