Edwin Ho Posted December 30, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am curious to know if one has to "struggle" to see the edges when using a 28mm on M 262. I use spectacles.
Advertisement Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Hi Edwin Ho, Take a look here Frame Line for 28mm on M 262. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
84bravo Posted December 30, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 30, 2020 I struggle to see the 28mm frame lines on my M10 and M240, but I wear glasses which doesn't help.
cboy Posted December 30, 2020 Share #3 Posted December 30, 2020 (edited) Yes ive also find wideangle very difficult to see on a m, but more so when wearing glasses, unless you use an external viewfinder or evf. However the m262 is not electronically coupled. Edited December 30, 2020 by cboy
a.noctilux Posted December 30, 2020 Share #4 Posted December 30, 2020 Since my M4-P days (some decades ago ! ), I don't try to frame "28" ,so x0.72 VF not really for 28 lens when precise framing is required. For a while I used the nice external 28mm finder. M262 with x0.68 may be a bit better. Why Leica sold x0.58 film M for a while, as alternative. With time, I have the framing "in my eyes", so I don't use the 28 finder but learned to live with that. My other turnaround ...as a habit. Just not looking at the frame lines, but look straight ahead and "see" the framelines in the far field can make a huge difference.
tom.w.bn Posted December 30, 2020 Share #5 Posted December 30, 2020 35mm framelines are the widest I can see on M240 and M10 with glasses.
250swb Posted December 30, 2020 Share #6 Posted December 30, 2020 Flexible spectacle frames help, but I think you get used to not seeing all the edges of the 28mm in one go, you kind of get to know what will be there if you've already looked at the scene. But I often just scan around each edge one at a time to be sure, it doesn't take more than half a second.

Or maybe is it the 24?

The 28 framelines push the limit and are out near the edge of the viewfinder.
