beewee Posted March 9, 2021 Share #41 Posted March 9, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) The 24/3.5 is a real gem. Probably one of the most underrated new lenses on the market and punches way above its weight and price class.

BlueIn2Red Posted March 9, 2021 Author Share #42 Posted March 9, 2021 (edited) “Maybe a few years ago, I did not see the point of using such a camera as the SL is without native SL lenses. Nowadays, everything has changed. It makes total sense to get an SL2-S with only the new contemporary trio: 24/3.5 + 35/2 + 65/2. I don't usually shoot less than f/2, and my favorite and most used lens on DSLR are 35 and 58.“ Agreed, although the fp with the ‘I’ lenses makes even more sense! Missing IBIS of course, which is a biggie, but significantly cheaper, smaller and lighter than an SL body. It's specs call for a minimum image size of 2:1 (48 x 70 mm). You can only get that close (1-2 cm from the lens hood) with a ring light or just, as a test, photographing a display screen. The edges of the frame get a little smeary if you do, no magnification required to see it. But the capability is there to be used when needed. michali Posted March 17, 2021 Share #44 Posted March 17, 2021 (edited) I received the Sigma 24mm f3.5 DG DN L this morning. It's the tail end of our summer rainfall season, pouring rain on & off, so I took a couple of images around the house. As with all my other Sigma L mount lenses, so far I'm impressed, build quality, handling, IQ & of course, I love the aperture ring! All images are full frame uncropped on the SL2. @ f3.5 (please click on images for better res.) Welcome, dear visitor! Daniel C.1975 Posted March 21, 2021 Share #47 Posted March 21, 2021 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Fun picture with the 24 3.5 very near to its closest focusing distance. That's an Easter egg my wife made. Free hand, f4.5. For all non-Germans: This is, admittedly quite bad, phonetic joke. The English I, is pronounced Ei, which is the German word vor egg Cheers Daniel Welcome, dear visitor!
