Your file numbers will reset to some hard to control alternative. Fields of text, like copyright info and artist name, will be lost and you have to reenter. Scott, file numbering is reset even though the original SL2 manual says it can be saved?

I have informed Leica as soon as I got the camera in February about this issue I don't feel comfortable saying this as Im a great fan of Leica, especially their staff - and spent an awful lot of money on their products but - unless im doing something wrong - and I cant see I am - its not fit for my purpose .. Yes. Very true. I also really enjoy the SL2, and like the company as well! But this is a real no-no. I’m intending using the Zeiss Milvus mostly for Video work, due to their mechanical focus, and I’m start to get mad, that I cannot use them on a flagship € 6000 Camera, because they cannot get their firmware up and running. The other part is the AF system, which is sadly sup-bar to the competition. I really hope they fix this now very soon, not planning to wait another 6 months for this, or I have sadly re-evaluate Leica and move to another brand again, which would be a sad move to do. Using a Sigma MC-21 with Zeiss Milvus ZE (EF) lenses. "Battery too low for 4K or burst". The battery is about 90% charged tough! That is really a bummer for a € 6000 flag ship camera! Leica support just will forward it to the technicians, but do not know when there would be a fix... Really? Last year Sigma wrote that MC-21 will not be compatible with Leica's L-mount cameras. Has Sigma created a new version of MC-21? It does not look like Leica can do anything about the compatibility issue.

I followed instructions and used a formatted empty chip for the upgrade installation. Then I put back by current chip. It has three directories, L100, L101, L102. L102 is current. L101 wasn't there before. The camera chose after the upgrade to create L101 and put all the files there. What can I say? It has always been like this.

Yes this applies to cameras before the L amount alliance, so SL 601 not compatible, SL 2 is compatible. The SL2 makes a battery check before video or burst shooting, and something with this checking gets wrong with adapted lenses. I understand that this can happen, but I don’t really understand why it cannot be fixed in 6 months... Edited June 19, 2020 by sebas_

I may not bother to install, as I don’t have any compelling concerns with the current version. Can anyone confirm whether or not Leica at least changed the top LCD’s DOF readings to properly show feet/meters? That would indicate that perhaps there are other small fixes that aren’t listed in the LUF Admin post. Jeff
rim_light Posted June 19, 2020 Share #34 Posted June 19, 2020 After the update I could import my profiles and it worked like a charm. The frame numbers are resetted. Multishot works even without tripod - but you have to hold the camera very still for some seconds. Interestingly it crops the image - is that like it is suppose to work? The bug I reported is gone. The wheel directions a working correct now. Improvement: while in af-c the evf "jitters" less than before. You can hear the camera still working but the image is much clearer now. So in my opinion its a good update but more like a 1.9. Still no gps data while pairing with the Fotos app...

Stuart Richardson Posted June 19, 2020 Share #40 Posted June 19, 2020 (edited) I just did a quick few shots and it seems like the same zipper/jagged pixel effects that occurred in the Panasonic S1 are happening here. This means that for me it may be an occasionally useful feature, but it is not a substitute for a higher resolution camera (though I am not sure anyone ever claimed it was). Also finding some odd color anomalies around blown out highlights...found this on my second shot. Wish they would have asked me to beta test... Welcome, dear visitor! Sorry if it is not clear, but this is a photo of a rock taken with the APO Macro Summarit 120mm. It was mounted on a studio stand. Some of the white highlights were blown out, and when I pulled them back in lightroom, I noticed these cyan areas. Additionally, the non-pixel shifted version to the right seems sharper. The camera was locked down on a 80kg studio stand, and it seemed stable, but there are a lot of cars and trucks around, so there could have been some unseen vibrations.
