Until you realise it is an extreme crop taken from the deep shadows of this photo . . .

Thought I'd pass along this wee learning experience. Using a cable release with my Monochrom didn't do the job. I will try the self timer next. I was shooting the night sky, the crop I've attached is of a plane with a blinking light, moving from right to left, over a 6 second exposure. The squiggle at the beginning, on the right, is from the cable release triggering the shutter. It also shows up in smaller "echoes" of stars. I was surprised to see a number of what I think might have been satellite tracks... I didn't see them with my naked eye.
