I'm most impressed that you can use one.

Hi Dee,

I could tell right away when I looked at the photo on my big monitor that the cowhide whip was a work of art. It's beautifully braided.

We called them bull whips when I learned to use one. The basic movement has some similarity to fly fishing which I took up many years later and still enjoy.

Cheers,

Brent

So far 50mm-wise I have used either my Summilux-M ASPH or ZM C-Sonnar.  Decided to put my elderly 5cm Summicron Collapsible LTM (with orange filter) on the M10M this afternoon and go for a short local walk.  Some results:-

This was one of my last dog walks before lockdown.

24 Lux, quite a heavy crop.  You could still read my phone number on the dog tag before I edited it out.

That's an absolutely phenomenal shot!!! Perhaps the best dog photo I've seen posted on this forum since I joined in 2002.

How to upload images:

Prepare the image as follows:
1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits
2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended)
3.   Sharpen properly for screen.
4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 1000 kB (2000 kB for sponsoring members).
5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog.
6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Files” and select the image.

It is also possible to embed an image through linking, but the  embedded image must still fall within the forum size rules above. There is also the risk of a broken link when the image is moved or deleted on the other site. Not recommended.

When you find an image on the forum you see a preview. Click on it for good quality. When the plus symbol appears click on it for full size.

Hi Jaap

about export in LR

- an image from m10m easely gives a file 62MB

- export longest side 2480pxels => file 3MB

- export <= 1,1MB not possible in LR

only way? - export to PShop, reduce dimensions, reopen in LR en export …… that works but becomes rather ??

is there no other way to upload

k regards

japo

I was testing a 90mm Macro f4 collapsable lens as I want my M10M kit to be very compact.

The ISO range of the M10M allows for choosing small lenses for their size rather than needing speed.

This shot is a further crop down from the full 90mm image.

I should mention that the 90m on the M10M is a match for a B&W conversion of a S120mm. If anyone wants to see my test comparison, let me know.

This shot is f8 late afternoon light over St. Louis skyline.

You make a good point. It seems silly to have this massive ISO headroom and yet carry around heavier lenses in the daytime.

One could indeed make a compelling case for a minimalist kit of M10M, 28 Elmarit, 50 APO Summicron, and 90 Macro Elmar. All take E39 filters, so one gets to pat oneself on the head for economising (sic) here.

Plus perhaps one extra lens for environmental portraiture in *very* dark environments. After Dark, Anything Goes; so here one might choose to be less practical and restrained.

That's almost exactly what I carry when I want to go somewhere with a complete kit, except that I have the 90mm Elmarit rather than the Macro Elmar. It gets the job done nicely and all fits quite nicely into the Billingham Hadley Digital bag which is quite easy to carry around.

This evening in Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, Colorado, an Owl "mom" and two chicks. The large chick is a male and the middle, smaller one, female. Taken with the M10M and 35 APO FLE on a Swarovski Spotting Scope at 20X power. The M10M was at 1/250, f/5.6, ISO 400. The spotting scope was on a tripod and I handheld the camera lens up against the rubber protection on the spotting scope eyepiece. It's not a very easy photo to take. I cleaned up some severe vignetting in PS.
