One of those images/situation where the 'like' thumb-mark feels mis-placed...

I have problems to press the "Like" button here.
20 Years ago my house burnt down and all my belongings including all memories like records, tapes and photos went to the sky with the smoke.
Awaken only 10 minutes later i could not write here this text. The house had a roof of reeds…
So i know how the people that lived there might feel now. I hope they could escape at right time and are not hurt.

But regardless of the misery that has happened to people there, it is a fantastic photo!

Rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) enjoying the first traces of sun after a recent snow fall. SL2 + Canon 400mm f4 DO II (with the Sigma MC-21 adapter).

Wow, that's great.
Works  the AF,  the IS as well
Loses the AF speed
Is BIF possible
Is the functionality of the lens fully maintained
regards

Fortunately, there were no injuries: https://www.tt.com/artikel/16627830/heisse-asche-in-schuppen-loeste-grossbrand-in-der-wildschoenau-aus

@verwackelt sad to hear! But what matters is that you survived!

AF works fine; it is quite fast and mostly reliable. The IS works brilliantly (it is really superb), but you cannot activate IBIS. No problem, since IS is so good. The lens' functionality works fine, no problem.

I would not use the combo for BIF, simply because AF is too slow (compared to native Canon/Nikon DSLRs).

The Canon 400mm f4 DO v2 is a small, light weight, and very sharp lens; highly recommended...
