Did i mention that truely love the Sigma 135mm ART ?!

BackDoc- this is your fault......your images with this lens made me buy one.

07:45AM- this morning DHL delivered in Johannesburg SA, a 135mm f1.8 Sigma L which I ordered from B&H in NYC only 2 days ago 😃

07:56AM-  first image with this lens on SL2 - ISO200 f1.8 @ 1/1000s   DOF is razor thin. First impressions- it's big (not an issue for me)  I like the way it feels on the SL2, nicely balanced.

If I may use this thread for a question, the 2 images below, the first one is "out of the camera" and the second one is "post (quick) processing".

Shot with SL2 and SL APO 35mm f/2.0. The images out of the camera look pale to me (in the woods, partly cloudy).
I have tried to get closer to reality with a quick post processing.

Would you judge the out of the camera image as "unusual" or "usual" and is post processing necessary

Thank you for your kind comments!

A curious cat  with SL 2 and L Macro 60 mm - the SL 2 changes automatically in APS-C mode with this lens, therefore the focal length was 90 mm equ. FF. Both photos are crops.

I like the out-of-camera image more when I compare them, but I confess I would have been tempted to make similar adjustments as yours when first viewing it 🙂

First image looks a little over exposed and maybe lacks contrast.  What settings did you change to create the second image?

In the moss - SL 2 with Leica Macro 60 mm in APS-C mode, light crop. Of course resolution ist lost but the remaining app. 20 MP are good enough for a lot of purposes. And the AF works much better than with my adapted Canon Macro lenses - even inmacro distance. A good possibility if the whole resolution of the SL 2 is not a need and the focal length of the lens is sufficient.

Thanks for reacting. To my eyes "on the scene", the leaves where more dramatic in colour. My quick edit posted might be a bit to much on the red-isch side :) Must have been the wine ;)

I spent some extra time on post processing and concluded that my memory might have been wrong.... I am more happy with the result now.

You are right T25UFO

To my earlier comment, the one posted now today is more closer to reality. It was a bit humid so that might have had influence as well.

My question was also referring to if other fellow SL2 user in general were experiencing extra challenges when photographing in the woods.

Anyhow. Thank for spending your time on my question. Appreciated.
