Lazy spring afternoon   -SL2 & Carl Zeiss 300mm f2.8 Tele-APO Tessar & Mutar lll 1.4x TC with Novoflex CY-L adapter

I've had this lens for 25 years, originally used it on my Contax RTS & RTS lll, its IQ is astounding.  No PP other than conversion from DNG to Jpg.

Please click on the image for better res.

We know that Mr. Karbe is against extenders/converters. I am in favor of them (1.4x or maybe 1.7x), but it is not easy to get comparisons. Maybe it is asking too much, but could you make a comparison with this great lens: The Contax 300 plus 1.4x extender versus Contax 300 on SL2 in APS-C mode (or with manual cropping if you prefer (it is possibly more flexible)).

I agree, with you, I see no image degradation with the Zeiss 1.4x on the Zeiss 300mm f2.8 or the Canon 400mm f4 USM II with the Canon 1.4x.

No problem, I'll do some comparisons in the next day or 2 as you suggest.

Same - grey afternoon at a National Trust Property, Attingham Park, watching the fallow deer herd and hearing the odd bellow, as it is near rutting time.
