Tawny Eagle (Aquila rapaxsitting on its nest at Zuka Game Reserve. One of the longest living Eagles, they can live up to 15 years. Populations outside of protected areas are in serious decline due to clearing of land for agriculture, mining & logging which deprives them of nesting sites.

SL2 & Canon 400mm f4 USM DO II & 1.4X TC with Sigma MC-21 adapter (70% crop it was a fair distance away).

...a walk in the late afternoon sun...and there are occasions when shutting down a Leica lens (here the VE 24-90mm) completely to f22 has a reason (other than checking if your sensor needs some cleaning;))

Social distancing? What social distancing. Summer arrived early to Sydney and no covid is going to stop people from going to the beach.

Some extra cropping

This picture was shot in multi shot,

been using SL2 for almost 2 months, available  light shot is the best, haven’t found any trick for astro and night photography

Summicron M 90 Leitz circa 1995, a 25 yo old lens often surprises me how it renders differently to modern APO Summicrons both M and SL. Also, ibis works nicely, this was shot at 1/10sec hand held.

Cats do make the best subject for lens tests.  Romeo -SL2 & Sigma 45mm DG @ f5.6

I've read that some people complain that this lens is too soft...please click on the image.

I have it too but I am selling it now. Been using it mainly for Zoom calls while WFH hahaha. I think it’s ok but not exciting from rendering perspective. It is sharp as you note, works well on cats 🐱 😂 and the build is very solid. And other good things like short min focussing distance, aperture settings on the barrel...but it’s not exciting somehow.
