Advertisement (gone after registration)

I ordered an Overgaard lens shade in late August and paid the additional for "expedited" shipping, but so far, nothing.  After numerous attempts at contacting the organization, I finally got an email from an associate who assured me I was "on the list" and that I would receive it shortly.  That was two weeks ago.  Has anyone else had a similar experience, or is this unique?

I had ordered and prepaid a lens shade. Didn`t get a confirmation, no response at all. After two or three weeks, I wrote an email to Thorsten and another one 10 days later, but I had no reaction. So I checked for another contact person. He had nothing to do with orders but he was helpful. All in all, it took about 8 weeks, until I received the lens shade. It was sent from HongKong. It was the worst order experience I ever had !

Thank you for the quick responses.  I think it's shameless that he continues to advertise the availability of this product within 30 days, charges payment prior to shipment, and has virtually no way to communicate with (dare I use such a non-artistic word---customers).  Perhaps he should change his motto to Caveat Emptor!!

All right, I'll go ahead and say it:  There are no justifications for this kind of unbelievably slipshod and unprofessional business practices.  None.  Over a year's wait for a book that you have prepaid?  In what universe is that acceptable??

I won't be doing business with Mr. Overgaard - life is too short to tolerate such nonsense.  Perhaps others would do well to deny him the opportunity to treat them with this level of disregard, too.  Continuing to trade with Mr. Overgaard and to suffer this kind of flagrant contempt for paying clients only serves to perpetuate it. 

These may thought by some to be harsh words, but they are also true words which have been brought on by Mr. Overgaard's own obnoxious actions toward paying clients. 

It's sad that some people think it's okay to treat paying customers this way.

Darn...sorry for all the bad experience with receiving the lens shade.  It did take a while for mine to arrive from China, but it wasn't all that unexpected.  Hope things get back in the groove for Thorsten.  Small staff probably and it only takes one to foul things up.  Been there!

Thanks again for all comments.  I want you to know that my Q2 is my first Leica and from the moment I picked it up I understood what was different about Leicas compared to my former Canons and Nikons.  I chose the Q2 because of its excellent EVF, because I am struggling with macular degeneration and because I can no longer carry a 40 lb backpack.  The Q2 is a thing of beauty that takes great images, but only if you understand its simple controls.

I apologize for entering this community on such a negative note.

For all those having an issue with Thorsten's lens shades to include asking for a refund drop both him and Adam an email.  Be sure to send them the payment receipt if paid by PayPal or whatever.  Adam monitors the orders and queries Cynthia in Hong Kong about status. They have issues with the production end in China.  He knows all about it.  I have gone through this whole process with them.  I suggest you email both and send a copy to yourself.

Try:  thorsten@overgaard.dk   and    am@overgaard.dk

Thorsten is the only one who can issue the refunds.

That's probably where Overgaard purchase them to sell back at 10 times the price...

 

Exactly. I don't see the point of paying that guy an outrageous amount of money when lens hoods are a dime a dozen everywhere.

  I ordered a Lens shade also  it took a while to get it .  I was given an explanation  but since i did  did have the Camera yet  i didn't care.  The shade finally arrived and i got the camera  shortly there after.

The same thing here…

Warning: Don't order anything here. I ordered Shades in February 2021 and did not receive it. Now since early May they are stuck in costums. They did not refund the money paid as they promised so far. All the deadlines passed. Over USD 900 is lost...
