It looks beautifully made and presented, good enough to get one and just look at it in the box. I like the way it's demonstrated in the photos and is ideally designed to catch all the fluff, micro fibres, crumbs, and pet hairs shed from your clothes.

Wasn't there around an accessory to Mount a pair of M lenses vertically onto the bottom plate ? a 90/135 could also be used as a handle… :P

Nothing against the gizmo, but I would be nervous as hell with any lens, especially an expensive one, dangling from my neck.
If I'm in that much of a hurry I'll bring my Canon 5DMIV and a zoom lens. Shooting Leica is slower and more methodical to me.

... and the drool as you stand looking through a Leica dealer's shop window. ("wan-len-ses")

On the trip I transport single lenses in jacket pockets or backpacks.

For the fast flying change of lenses I need a secure fixation, because I usually have no storage, place - similar to a photo bag - available.

The modified 'Lens Carrier M' (14404) has proved its worth in terrain where there is a risk of falling.

A Telescope-Ocular TO-M is also a practical lens cap replacement. ...

I have a “flipper” for my Canon glass but only used it when needing 3 lenses.  Never leave a mount open.  They collect dirt.

Dont use it anymore since a very small compartment bag, swung around in front of me, is a handy, clean, safe, lens holder.

now that I’m primarily using M glass in the field, a very small old Domke bag can hold a 21, 50, 90, 135 and my Canon R with M adapter!

I could not do w/o one or two coupling rings in my small bags personally. Allows for mounting two lenses back to back and saves a lot of room this way. Been using mines since the eighties. I don't think they are being sold by Leica anymore but they were still available for R and M lenses in the nineties at least as they were listed in the manual of my L6J. Here's the M version, code 14838. Only con it has no center partition so mounting two protruding lenses is impossible or dangerous for the rear elements.

The M is such a beautiful camera, over the years I am stripping off all the peripherals that clutter it, no case, no thumbs-up, no soft release, evf only when necessary, one lens.  When I do change lenses my wife is kind enough to help me out, the gadgets help but an extra hand is invaluable and a great companion :-).

No, thanks says me.

Why?

Cost :$275 USD.

Impact protection:  None.

Weather/dust/rain protection:  None.

Prying eyes of thieves protection:  None.

Protection from light fingered thieves in a crowd:  None.

Protection from a lens not being 100% secured to it and smashing on the sidewalk:  None.

Alternatives that cost significantly less and provide protection against all of the above hazards?

And given you can make Leica lens caps fall off by just staring at them imagine the stock of spares you'd need with the lens brushing against your clothes!
