I have been modifying buttons with raised areas of griptac for several years now and have done so on my Z cameras to better differentiate between them. So I hit the + button a couple of times and then return back to full view with the center button on the AF point controller. It's not as fast as I would like but it does work well enough.

Ouch yes i see, sounds like i'll stick to my Sony then. Thank you again.

I store a User setup just for my Leica lenses, where the back button AF becomes the magnification. One press magnifies, second press returns to normal view.

Interesting thank you. How do you manage to trigger focus magnification with M lenses on your Z cameras? Can you do it w/o unsticking the eye from the VF? Just curious.

Do it as I described in post #77, assign one of the front FN buttons (I used FN2) for focus magnification, dab for ON then dab again for OFF, no need to take the camera from your eye.

......any cheaper adapter would also work since it's only a spacer between the body and lens.

Indeed, but a little Googling revealed a few reports of issues with some adapters that leak light, lead to focusing beyond infinity, don't lock securely in place etc.

I'm erring towards the Novoflex despite the absurd price.

Here a photo of a K&F concept adaptor for Nikon F lenses to go on M-body  (I wanted to test medium/long telephoto on Leica M) Forget it!!!

Bought in june 2018, for 22Euro on the bay, used less than 10 times,  enough to realize it was not serious.

How does it look at the M-side? I have the same adaptor, but I have only one Nikkor lens.

On the M-side I see now that it is showing some serious signs of wear. Never thought about that. I have been using it a lot though (not so many pictures, but I have put it on/off a lot).

On the M -side it's quite OK as once on the body,I used to mount/dismount the lens on/off the adaptor instead of leaving the adaptor on the lens and remove the adaptor, way to preserve the M.

BTW: This is clearly about my Nikon lens to M-body adaptor and not about my M-lenses to Nikon Z-body, but I think it is the same problem.

I have gone thru 2 adapters for my Z. Got a cheap Fotasy but the m mount lenses never really fit. I have it for several days before returning it. Ordered instead the Fotodiox and that has worked perfectly. You hear the adapter click into place on the camera and the lenses click into place on the adapter. No light leak issues and all works fine.

I liked those K&F adopters because you could easily put some shims in them. I used aluminum foil to make the lens reach infinity at the hard stop. I find it very hard to focus at 1-3 km away using a EVF. A hard stop infinity is for me very convenient as I take a lot of pictures focused at infinity.

I used a matt black paint to cover the alu foil. Have worked perfectly until I noticed this wear. I can not see any wear on the lens mount of my camera, so maybe it is not a big problem?
