My official Leica dealer maintains a steady supply of them, albeit they told me last Summer , at the factory they use some very old machine tools and vital parts broke on them that made items on both lenses-catastrophy ! But this statement conflicts with forum talk stating TL lenses are made in Japan !! No wonder Forums can cause retailers to suck air in through their teeth . 1 hour ago, nicci78 said: It is quite fast. Slowest TL lens : APO-Macro-Elmarit-TL 60mm Fastest TL lens : Elmarit-TL 18mm others TL lenses fall in between 😜 Every TL lenses are much faster with CL than with TL2. And of course way faster than T/TL Thanks for the info’. I’m considering a 55-135 sometime, preferably a used one if I can.

They have an 11-23mm 'never used' pre owned which I turned down yesterday after a change of mind about needing one . It is basically a brand new lens at a huge discount . What not to like ? It is the second one in two months they have offered for sale. A forum member bought the first one .
NigelG Posted February 7, 2019 Share #23 Posted February 7, 2019 (edited) Well if they put it somewhere on their site I could have bought it.....🙄 They are showing backorder on new lenses and no listing for ex display or pre-owned. I bought a 21 SEM from them previously and they were very good to deal with. Edited February 7, 2019 by NigelG

I have the other two TL zooms and the 23mm and a 1980's 90mm Tele-Elmar. Hard for me to justify another c. £1500 for another lens, but I could sell the Tele-Elmar if I could find a used 55-135 at the right price. Ken Hansen has been looking for me to no avail.I believed that I'd called every Leica dealer in the US. This morning I saw that New York Photo and Video (only a 12 mile drive from my house) was a Leica dealer. I called and, amazingly, they had one. It's been in stock for months. Just lucky. Yup. I just called and they sold the only one they had. Guy at the store said "Good Luck." I wish I would have checked this thread when you posted the above. It's going to be a long slog trying to find that lens.
Astropap Posted February 11, 2019 Share #26 Posted February 11, 2019 Just bought one, along with the 11-23mm zoom, from Glazers' Camera in Seattle. I asked if they had any more. They don't have any new but they do have a demo of each. He wasn't sure if the store will sell them but it doesn't hurt to contact them if you're looking. stevegaskin Posted February 12, 2019 Share #28 Posted February 12, 2019 Having phoned six UK retailers all giving me the same - “on back-order, but no delivery date available” response, I was about to give up. I then phoned my last hope - Wilkinson’s Cameras in Chesterfield and to my surprise they had one in stock - being delivered on Thursday 😀. Thank you Wilkinson. wda Posted February 13, 2019 Share #30 Posted February 13, 2019 That is rather interesting because if the store is part of a group of that name, based in the NW of UK, I thought they had relinquished the Leica dealership. Good to hear your news.

Bill W Posted February 17, 2019 Share #36 Posted February 17, 2019 Are you concerned about your ability to hold the lens steady or something else? If you use a shutter speed equivalent there is no issue. I posted these earlier of the original and a cropped area. It was handheld at 135 ISO200 1/800 @ f6.3 Welcome, dear visitor! huwm Posted February 17, 2019 Share #37 Posted February 17, 2019 (edited) I think the combination of body and lens stabilisation with that combo has made me somewhat blase about handheld shots. Those look great, I'll have to relearn my limits and see how it goes Think I'm OK to about 1/250 but probably better to aim for faster speeds initially Edited February 17, 2019 by huwm
