How will we ever upgrade the firmware? 🙂 Same way as with the Q and the M10. Menu just have upgrade firmware option. As easy as it sounds. 🙂
Advertisement Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Hi nicci78, Take a look here Q2 47 mps, Dirt & Drip proof & new EVF (FWIW!). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Or ask you Leica dealer and place yourself on their prelaunch waiting list.

Accessories will be compatible. OLED EVF is only place more at the left side, leaving more room for the CL diopter adjustment dial The lens is the same, only the macro ring is made larger, for better grip. Therefore the distance scale is a narrower. Only a Q with CL accents : dial with button within, three buttons layout and no video button (very sad about it), OLED EVF, shutter with only ON/OFF position and same diopter dial I think you right, I Tried it again with a slightly different Leica Q image source, and this time I made a match Welcome, dear visitor! nicci78 Posted February 19, 2019 Share #184 Posted February 19, 2019 By the way the screen of Q2 is different. Not sure if it is bigger, or just another arrangement
jbripley Posted February 19, 2019 Share #186 Posted February 19, 2019 (edited) Looks like the adjustment wheel on the right has the same functionality with a button inside of it as the CL. I really hope it has the same assignable functionality, with a single tap to activate and hold to change. I was a bit worried about the ISO button going away, but this will easily replace that. NERICSSON Posted February 19, 2019 Share #187 Posted February 19, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) would ISO be adjustable via the wheel? /Niklas

You can turn on/off a choice of settings and assign one of them to be activated when the inner button is pushed. I would imagine EV would be the default assigned setting, which you then could change to be ISO instead. nicci78 Posted February 19, 2019 Share #189 Posted February 19, 2019 (edited) It will work as the right wheel of the CL. Short press to call last selected function. Long press to call a menu to choose another function among up to 8 others. Very easy. FN button will work the same way. No video button, what a shame. Really hate to swipe for video mode. Really stupid idea. Leica goes to far into simplification. It is very hard to make video with the CL. Edited February 19, 2019 by nicci78
Mr.Q Posted February 19, 2019 Share #190 Posted February 19, 2019 Off went my Q to the new owner making me Q-less for the first time in 3.5 years. Looking forward to another 3-4 years with the Q2.
nicci78 Posted February 19, 2019 Share #191 Posted February 19, 2019 Lucky you. I am not sure to pull the trigger on this one. Still happy with my Q. Not sure to want to spend 2500-3000€ for upgrade. If not broken, no need to change. And
dancook Posted February 19, 2019 Share #192 Posted February 19, 2019 I personally feel, as an evangelist of the Leica Q, it necessary to super charge my Q if there is an opportunity! Also a new camera makes all my usual photography feel brand new, like live music - I look forward to working those crop modes hard! 1
nicci78 Posted February 19, 2019 Share #193 Posted February 19, 2019 I will be much happier with a Q-U = actual Q with X-U shell components and ring flash. Please Leica, replace the X-U with a Q-U. Just imagine how nice it will be for underwater and rough outdoor photography

Qster Posted February 19, 2019 Share #196 Posted February 19, 2019 I hope they made the SD card slot a UHS-II slot. I often had the Q lock up on me while it was still writing to the card
nicci78 Posted February 20, 2019 Share #197 Posted February 20, 2019 I hope also. UHS II should be the minimum requirement with 47MP and 4K
Leica Guy Posted February 20, 2019 Share #198 Posted February 20, 2019 (edited) I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Both the Leica SL and the Panasonic DC-S1R have UHS-II slots. I would think with the 47MP files they would almost have to design in faster write speeds to the SD card. Not doing that would be a major disappointment. nicci78 Posted February 20, 2019 Share #199 Posted February 20, 2019 Leica has his way to surprise us in a bad way. We’ll see soon
nicci78 Posted February 20, 2019 Share #200 Posted February 20, 2019 (edited) Leica store Ginza announced the Q2 price : 800,000 yen = 6,360 € = 7,215 $ FYI actual Q price in Japan is 560,000 yen = 4,450 € = 5,050 $ We can guess 6,000€ with taxes introduction price in Europe. We are approaching a whopping 50% price increase in euros against Leica Q 3,995€ introduction price at June 2015 Sorry, but it will be without m, this time. You can start imagine a SL2 47MP at 8,000 €. Almost twice the price of Lumix S1R Edited February 20, 2019 by nicci78
