Advertisement Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Hi Guest VVJ, Take a look here CL - bugs and other issues. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
scott kirkpatrick Posted January 26, 2018 Share #182 Posted January 26, 2018 So this is a new bug. Before we had 1000 pictures maximum in each folder, even though most of us would be happy to put more in a folder. Now we have 1001 pictures in a folder. So they have found a use for digit #4 from the right. But it is only used once in every 1001 files.
FrenchTwist Posted January 31, 2018 Share #183 Posted January 31, 2018 Hello guys I did couple times hard reset on the CL (factory settings) and each time after entering date time & settings when I switch off the camera I ear the shutter - have you notice the same behavior? Just want to understand why
lct Posted January 31, 2018 Share #184 Posted January 31, 2018 Welcome to the forum . Were you in silent mode?
FrenchTwist Posted January 31, 2018 Share #185 Posted January 31, 2018 It happened once in silent mode The 2 others time it wasn’t - but the shutter activation switching off the camera always related to a factory reset Using M converter summarit 35 2.4 attached
lct Posted January 31, 2018 Share #186 Posted January 31, 2018 All i can say is my CL (my Sony A7s mod also) does that from time to time as i'm in silent mode most of the time.
FrenchTwist Posted January 31, 2018 Share #187 Posted January 31, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) ok thanks do you use electronic shutter ? Do you think the image quality is the same with mechanical shutter ?
scott kirkpatrick Posted January 31, 2018 Share #188 Posted January 31, 2018 ok thanks do you use electronic shutter ? Do you think the image quality is the same with mechanical shutter ? I use it any time I want to be less conspicuous, avoiding fast moving vehicles and flourescent lights. But, with regard to the latter, I shot for several hours today in a room with white walls and multiple flourescent overhead lights, and didn't see any banding. I was using a modest shutter speed (1/60). So except for those two issues, the image quality is the same.
lct Posted January 31, 2018 Share #189 Posted January 31, 2018 ok thanks do you use electronic shutter ? Do you think the image quality is the same with mechanical shutter ? Yes 100% electronic. Been using this intensively for a couple of years and only problems i've got was with LED light and fast moving subjects so i use mechanical shutter in those two occurrences exclusively. FrenchTwist Posted January 31, 2018 Share #190 Posted January 31, 2018 No one else ? Except LCT with shutter sound when switching off the Leica CL? I will check the Demo in Leica store this week just in case
FrenchTwist Posted January 31, 2018 Share #191 Posted January 31, 2018 The CL sensor is a Sony Check out what I found concerning rare shutter sound when switching off the camera https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/56717338
jaapv Posted February 1, 2018 Share #192 Posted February 1, 2018 Is it? It may be, but there is no such statement from Leica. I fail to see what the sensor brand has to do with opening or closing of the shutter.
FrenchTwist Posted February 1, 2018 Share #193 Posted February 1, 2018 Bonjour Apparently Sony developed a technique to execute a sensor remapping every 3 or 4 weeks - when it occurs we can ear shutter sound when we switch off the CL - it’s rare but know it makes sense I knew before buying my CL that the sensor was manufactured by Sony as I knew before the launch that the M 240 sensor was manufactured by a Belgium corporation
jaapv Posted February 1, 2018 Share #194 Posted February 1, 2018 May I inquire how you know? It is certainly not common knowledge - as opposed to the M240. BTW the designer was Belgian, the maker was French.
FrenchTwist Posted February 1, 2018 Share #195 Posted February 1, 2018 On that article you can read that the Sensor is from SONY (they do state of the Art Sensors) https://www.lesnumeriques.com/appareil-photo-numerique/leica-cl-p41999/leica-cl-hybride-aps-c-expert-sauce-wetzlar-que-on-attendait-n68535.html
jaapv Posted February 1, 2018 Share #196 Posted February 1, 2018 Thanks. It is a possibility, as mentioned some time ago in this forum; the X series sensors are by Sony. Unfortunately, the article gives no source for its assertion
lct Posted February 1, 2018 Share #197 Posted February 1, 2018 "Likely" a modified Sony sensor according to Jonathan Slack (http://www.slack.co.uk/leica-cl.html).
nlk10010 Posted February 25, 2018 Share #198 Posted February 25, 2018 I don't know if this is a "bug", a defect, or it's just my copy of the CL (which, BTW, seems to have been a brand new copy just received by my vendor). I have Display Settings on EVF-Extended and ISO is one of the options in the "Right Wheel" menu and is the one I leave selected. About 40% of the time (don't ask me how I arrived at 40% as opposed to 45% or 50% or 10% ) I'll hit the right wheel button and the ISO choices will not come up in the little display window (I don't have my eye to the EVF). Sometimes I can hit the button two or three times and the ISO display still won't come up, sometimes it comes up after a delay and sometimes right away. I often have problems after I have just changed the ISO or I make a mode selection by using the left button. I have also done limited experiments where I hit the right button while my eye IS to the EVF and the scrolling menu does seem to come up on the bottom each time (though the sample size is small). Has anyone experienced a problem with the right (or, for that matter, left) wheel button not activating the proper action? Thanks for any info. ldog Posted March 3, 2018 Share #199 Posted March 3, 2018 Hey Guys, S.O.S. I'm new here so sorry to bust in on this thread but I'm having a problem with a recently purchased CL and need help. This sucker gets HOT, like physically hot in my hand and with minimal usage. I've happily used a Q for exactly the same sort of shooting with similar LCD/EVF settings and it is perfect, delightful and it never ever gets hot. I love most everything about the CL but this overheating thing is crazy. I had a M10 and it also got hot, but not as bad. My wife has a similar size Fuji X-E3 and it stays nice and cool in exactly the same circumstances. Am I doing something wrong or is this particular CL broken? Please help. jaapv Posted March 3, 2018 Share #200 Posted March 3, 2018 Mine does not get particularly hot, nor have we had any other complaints on this issue. Contact Leica or your dealer.
