Robert Q Wong Jr. Posted January 31, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone figured-out how to enlarge the histogram displayed on the M10, to the same size it was on the M240? I shoot without glasses and I can't see the tiny histogram on the upper left hand corner of the screen. Advertisement Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi Robert Q Wong Jr., Take a look here M10 Histogram display. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cookedart Posted January 31, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2017 Not that I've found in the manual.
chris_tribble Posted January 31, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 31, 2017 Me neither. It would be helpful to have a wider range of display options in image review / live view. It ought to be possible to toggle through eg, Detail, Large histogram, and Uncluttered. At the moment, there are only two options as far as I can work out. Firmware request! cldp Posted January 31, 2017 Share #4 Posted January 31, 2017 I agree, I also liked the larger histogram. I was able to confirm my exposure with Auto Review set to 1 second. Now that it's so small I actually need 3 seconds for it to register in my aging brain. Also, and equally important to me, I would like the option of seeing the histogram in 3 channel view. I'm mainly a landscaper and often have sky in the shot. Blue channel clipping is often underestimated by the averaging that the combined channel histogram display uses. I've proved that to my self in real-world situations often. With the 240, I really liked knowing I wasn't clipping the blue channel.
Robert Q Wong Jr. Posted January 31, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted January 31, 2017 +1 for an RGB histogram. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
cookedart Posted January 31, 2017 Share #6 Posted January 31, 2017 How it worked on the M240 definitely made more sense - it had more display modes to toggle in review mode: Image, Image w/ Histogram, Image w/ Clipping Overlays, Image with Image Info. M10 only has two modes: The image without any info or overlays, and the image with image info and clipping overlays that flash on and off. They've tried to put too much in those two modes, I think. mjh Posted February 1, 2017 Share #7 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) The old histogram was way too large (obscuring most of the image) while the new one is too small – a Goldilocks histogram somewhere between those extremes would be ideal. Rick Posted February 1, 2017 Share #8 Posted February 1, 2017 Ha. You guys are lucky to even have a LCD display on this camera. Essential. Don't start screwing it up with requests. Rick
Mnagle8 Posted April 24, 2018 Share #9 Posted April 24, 2018 I use the M 240 histogram extensively to know I have a good DNG. I only wish I could view the histogram before I pressed the shutter. Then I fine tune the result before taking a picture.
albertknappmd Posted April 25, 2018 Share #10 Posted April 25, 2018 Contact your dealer and have them speak to Leica. It will eventually show up in a firmware update. They really do listen.
