If the M10 was sexy black paint then I'd definitely wait for black. But it is not paint so it is a matter of whichever color becomes available first. Perhaps the Monochrom version of the M10 will be black paint. I couldn't imagine a more perfect camera.

Right. That is why I choose silver. Further silver is more classic and on top of it it is more solid than black.

As I understand by now: Asia goes mostly for silver; Europe goes mostly for black; US goes for Trump.

Well....ummmm.....not the majority but that is another subject....

Had many black M cameras over the years and all my lenses are black, except one in titanium which is ridiculously heavy. For me, black is the way to go. The silver looks plastic to me. And I hate silver lenses on black camera. Ick.

I prefer black, silver looks classic, but I find black slightly more discrete/less retro looking.

I also believe silver lens on black body looks better than black lens on silver body ;) whatever, first world problems.

I agree. silver lenses on a black body look great. not for everyone but I like the look and you know Leica puts better glass in the silver lenses.

Most Ferraris are red. Ferrari make some of the fastest cars. Red cars are faster than other colour cars.

If we get down to absolute minima then a red car will have a different maximum speed to other colours due to paint thickness, heat expansion, etc.etc. Don't ask me to calculate the difference but it will be there. However in the grand scale of things thank goodness  it is totally irrelevant

I have a Silver M10. Unfortunately I have oily hands and after each use the silver body takes on a "dark uneven sheen" that makes it looks very dirty and aged. Of course a good wipe with a soft cloth removes the problem. If left uncleaned the sheen turns darker and looks even dirtier in a day or two.

Having to keep wiping it is driving me crazy, so I am going to get a black one and hope that the same situation does not arise

The police certainly believe this...

I've never been a fan of the SLOBB look, and like the retro look of the silver body. The black paint bodies brass just by looking at them wrong, so if you want that broken-in look quickly, or want to avoid it, take that into account.

The black is chrome which isn't as nice as black paint imo, it aged not as beautiful as an aged black paint too. So silver to me as right now, if they release black paint version I will buy it in a hard beat

When I see silver lenses paired with a silver body it strikes me that the two silvers often don't match. The tone and colour of the silver lenses look nicer than the bodies in my opinion. They haven't matched the two finishes.

My favourite combination is the black body and lens (preferably black paint) paired with saddle brown or cognac case and strap as pictured above. Very handsome!

I just compared my silver Summilux 50 asph with the chrome M240 it is sitting on. I cannot see any mismatch...Otoh, the anodized black lenses certainly have a different finish from a black chrome body - or a black paint one,for that matter. Who cares?

The other day someone on the German forum told us that he had been shooting on a very hot day with his M10 (as is perhaps already known the M10 gets hotter than other digital M's). Maybe a silver one could slow down the development of heat a bit, was his point.

Maybe this was real for M9... I haven't it, but loaned my Summicron 35 asph to a M9-silver user and indeed the match wasn't 100%; on the contrary, I hadn't this feel for my 2 silver bodies (M8 and M240) : some difference is clear with very old chrome lenses of mine (Summicron 35 1st, Elmars 90... Super Angulon and Summarex are notoriously with a chroming all of their own) : but the "modern" chromes that I have (Elmarit 21 asph, Summicron 35 asph, Summicron 90...) do match fine imho.
