Advertisement Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Hi EdwardM, Take a look here Leica M 10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Distagon Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2162 Posted January 18, 2017 HUGE correction to make....the evf will be the visoflex 020. My apologies. There may be a new one coming that will work with the M10 but I am not sure if this information is 100% correct. Possible revision of the Visoflex, related to the EVF of mythical, future QL beast? nico1974 Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2163 Posted January 18, 2017 Great news looks like the UK price is £5600 - https://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/Leica-M-Cameras
Daedalus2000 Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2164 Posted January 18, 2017 From the article : " ISO12500 looks smoother than ISO3200 on Leica SL... " and " a notorious “discreet shutter mode” and a 1/8000 shutter speed " If it is true then I'm impressed "There are a few things that M10 does not have, and I am not missing them a tiny bit: video recording, USB connection, a notorious “discreet shutter mode” and a 1/8000 shutter speed." I see it also still has LENR
rpopescu Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2166 Posted January 18, 2017 Looks pretty terrific to me, especially what I thought I heard Andreas say -- 33mm wide. That's significant. But I'm off the upgrade caravan for now. John Actually according to the technical data PDF: "(width x depth x height) approx. 139 x 38.5 x 80mm". Far cry from 33mm! EdwardM Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2168 Posted January 18, 2017 Funny but its cheaper than M-P240 by 200 GBP

I wondered if the M10 can compete with my "old" A7s mod. I know now... At least, the M10 has 24 MP vs 12 for the former...
JonPB Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2170 Posted January 18, 2017 M10 typ 3656 -- so, we're using both M# and typ designations now? Whee! Order number 20000 -- that's an interesting statement to collectors and aficionados. Framelines tailored to 2m focus distance -- I applaud this. Different battery than M 240 -- I frown on this. Only a few minutes until the hands-on reviews are released from embargo... Cheers, Jon
BBHewee Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2171 Posted January 18, 2017 Can't see a reason to upgrade from my M-P, but I'm not saying I won't give into a bout of GAS.
Distagon Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2172 Posted January 18, 2017 Something is definitely wrong on this forum. Last time I remember there was a new M announced, there was a total meltdown, hopelessness, high emotions and a lot of bickering. What's going on today? Things seem suspiciously calm Perhaps because the M10 is ultimately just a slightly better M240, all of those feelings have already been spent? Peter H Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2173 Posted January 18, 2017 Actually according to the technical data PDF: "(width x depth x height) approx. 139 x 38.5 x 80mm". Far cry from 33mm! The 33.5mm is the body depth not including the thumbwheel. This misunderstanding of Leica dimensions is almost folklore by now.
John Black Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2174 Posted January 18, 2017 Reading the manual, in LV or EVF mode the magnified area can be moved around. It's not fixed at the central area. They do reference shutter release lag / delay, so I'm guessing that has not improved over the M-240. Mixed feelings here. A step forward, but the 2.36 MP EVF is disappointing. A future 4.41 MP EVF sounds great, but that's hopes and wishes. With the general trend of EVF being built-into cameras now, that means Leica would likely have to carry all the R&D and production cost for external 4.41 MP EVF. I don't know if Leica would invest that kind of money. Payback / break even might not be realistic. Just guessing of course.
microview Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2175 Posted January 18, 2017 Thanks for link to instruction manual. Two disapponitments here: frame lines white only (no red option) and NO HORIZONTAL reference to show camera tilted one way or the other (or both), which the Q has. Mr.Q Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2176 Posted January 18, 2017 Actually according to the technical data PDF: "(width x depth x height) approx. 139 x 38.5 x 80mm". Far cry from 33mm! That's including all the protuding bits.

digitalfx Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2178 Posted January 18, 2017 Puts review seems to contradict the other one I posted: http://www.imx.nl/photo/leica/camera/styled-56/ He says its the same exact sensor as the SL
matlep Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2179 Posted January 18, 2017 The Visioflex 020 is 2.4mp and the EVF in the Q is 3.7mp. So a camera released in 2017 did not beat a camera released in 2015. That´s Leica for you!
